I humbly suggest that if you don't want to be challenged on your use of words, then use the right ones. Well said.

No other airport in Scotland, or Northern England, has a lower price for fuel than Prestwick. The comparison was with US bases over 300 miles away, hardly a practical alternative for people bound for Scotland. They weren't "bound for Scotland" - the flight was going to Kuwait. According to news reports I've seen, such US military flights do not typically use Prestwick. Here's just one example: Quote Normally, C-17s refuel at US air bases in Germany, Italy, or the Azores. It seems like on an average day there are six aircraft landing and departing, with (again on average) three being U.S. military (USN, USAF). There must be some quantifiable reason for the recent increased use of this airport, other than it's size, runway length and weather. Why not share it immediately? That the DoD has been stone-walling Congress for 2 1/2 months seems, well, odd. This chart from that article is interesting...

The Prestwick Ops Team have been to the States many times over recent years, negotiating extremely favourable rates for handling and fuel the US Military Transport Command. mtls2005
US military fuel deal with Prestwick 'kicked into long grass' over Trump investigation A US Defence Department agency has postponed a lucrative new military aircraft refuelling deal with Glasgow Prestwick Airport amid multiple investigations and growing political scrutiny on both sides of the Atlantic into US military patronage and spending at the loss making hub and President Donald Trump’s flagship Scottish resort. The debt owed by the airport to the Scottish Government stands at £38.4m. Its most recent accounts show its holding company’s annual losses total £7.6m. https://www.scotsman.com/news/us-military-fuel-deal-with-prestwick-kicked-into-long-grass-over-trump-investigation-1-5002381 This airport, a money-losing proposition, is for sale. Maybe the U.S. could buy it?

Which Trump often pounces on to prove his popularity.
