Police in Singburi are hunting a 28 year old man after he shot and killed his father-in-law.

He had come to the aid of his daughter who was being attacked by her husband in a violent and jealous rage.

The husband then turned his gun on his wife and hit her in the knee before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Singburi police and Ruam Katanyu foundation medics went to a house on stilts in the Hua Phai sub-district where they found blood by the stairs.

Upstairs they found 28 year old Siriwan who had been shot in the left knee. She also had a wound to her head.

She was taken to Singburi Hospital.

Her father Manoo, 51, had already been taken to hospital but died on the way from a gunshot wound from the same gun.

Witnesses said that the shooter was Siriwan's husband Thapakorn or "Bird" aged 28. He was described as a hothead who had had many jealous arguments with his wife resulting in her leaving him and going to Bangkok to work in Nonthaburi.

However, the wife had just come back to Singburi and taken a job at a store in the town. After only two days the couple were warned by a supervisor after Bird went to threaten his wife at the store.

The argument continued at home and when Siriwan's father went to the aid of his daughter who was being attacked he was shot. Bird then turned the gun on his wife and fled the scene.

The hunt is now on.

Don't the police view it an insult that a guy driving off on his motorcycle because he figures they'll never be able to find him?

Have to wonder if the perp will do a few wais, several months in jail, then get out and finish the job. TIT
