Here's hoping your friend gets 5 years in the Bangkok Hilton, deported, and blacklisted. Maybe if it were the first time I would only hope he gets 30 days in the lockup on the charge of being an idiot. But caught for the third time, which means he's done it dozens of times, leaves me feeling your friend needs a good beating. BTW, your friend is an <deleted>.

he won't be deported for a first offense.

where was the checkpoint, was it huge with many rats ?

so funny that people here are blaming your friends when I am so sure that it happened to them more than once to do this kind of stupid thing.

ps: i do not drink, I only smoke weed, but do not drive when high.

You probably post too when high.. it impairs reading (and yes I vaped enough of it too and like you i dont drink).. It was a third offence... people like that should get deported. Drinking and driving once.. ok mistake.. 3 times.. just bad behaviour and too much.

3rd offence in a relatively short time period should be a custodial sentence anywhere on the planet.   Probably best to get in touch with a lawyer who can advise on minimising sentence, and methods of reducing actual time served.

Why should he have the sentence minimised, he was lucky he did not kill anyone, or injure himself.

He obviously requires assistance to modify his drinking habits before he kills another person.

Why did "he" not sort it before it got to going to court time ?

I had a friend (not me lol) get caught and arrested for DUI. He offered to pay ‘on the spot’ to make it easier on everyone and the said 15K. He had to be driven to his condo by the police.

After paying the officers he was escorted to Soi 9 for some reason where he was taken into a room with a big wig. He was told today is his unlucky day and 12K was handed back to him, 3K for ‘taxi fee’, and he was detained until posting bail.

On the spots don’t always work

Sucks to be your "friend" but hey if it was 1st offence the court issued fine would only have been 4k.

Good, people complain about corruption, but actively participate in it.

I’ve seen 24K for a first offence before. Along with a warning if the judge sees him again he’ll be deported. Says 3rd time in OP, I wouldn’t offer him much hope
