Can foreigner on retirement visa apply for gun permit

I would like to apply for a gun license.

 

Is it possible for a foreigner to apply for a gun license in Thailand?

no. and don't carry any type of weapon at all.

 

if you feel you need to carry a weapon remove yourself from the situation.

Why do you choose to settle in a country where you feel so unsafe that you need to carry a gun? I am probably stupid, but I thought the whole idea with moving abroad was to get away from problems and get a better life.

There is no super sizing here in Thailand. Something my American friends complain about constantly.

My suggestion that they just buy two has met with nothing but snorts of derision.

I think there's Pro's and Con's to living in Thailand however Thai people need to treat people equally and in this country, that's still not happening.

 

Sometimes i feel like a second hand citizen, like there's 1 law for Thai's and 1 for farung.

 

I would just like to see the country move forward and improve.

Absolutely right. Possessing a gun  puts you in a aggressive posture and makes it much more likely that you would be hurt. 

I know  that not having a gun makes you safer is counter intuitive but it is absolutely true, which is why the NRA does not want and desperately tries to prevent research on gun related violence. 

With a gun you confront, but you are the good guy, and you are not sure of the alleged  bad guy's intentions (it could be your son sneaking in)  so you inquire. but the bad guy knows your intentions, Right there you are at a distinct disadvantage,

Now think about how foreigners feel in your home country.

In how many countries are foreigners, especially from a different race, treated like the locals?

 

Personally I accept that Thailand is foremost a country for Thai people. They give us some rights and they give us the chance to live here under the conditions which they set. We can accept it or not, it's up to us. Personally I am happy to accept it.

Thai's have the same problem, law for the rich and connected and law for the rest!

Officially they are in every civilised country 

I don't know France (but I am using France as an example , as to exclude my own national bias) .So in France if a store charged immigrants more than locals what do you think the official response would be when they found out? Substitute US, Germany Sweden, etc etc.

Just get yer missus to apply for one. Very easy for her to obtain. I assume you want it for security? In the event of using it you get the missus to say she fired it. Job done.

Somehow i don't think that i can just travel to the USA and buy a gun there.

Why would you expect this to be possible in Thailand?

Do you really want to be that foreigner explaning to Thai police how or why you shot a Thai? Yes the laws are biased toward Thai citizens being protected from foreigners with guns. Seems reasonable
