webfact Posted September 15, 2019 Share Posted September 15, 2019 Chanthaburi commercial offices, eastern provinces’ commercial offices organize BorderTrade Fair 2019 CHANTHABURI (NNT) - At the Baan Laem Thai-Cambodian border market in Thep Nimit subdistrict of Pong Nam Ron district of Chanthaburi province, the Chanthaburi provincial commercial office and eight eastern provinces’ commercial offices, are all involved in staging the BorderTrade Fair 2019 as part of an Eastern Border Economic Development Project. Deputy Chanthaburi Provincial Governors, Boonchuay Noisanthia and Phongphat Wongtrakul; Pailin Provincial Governor Phan Chanthul, Deputy Pailin Provincial Governor Chia Siad, and Deputy Battambang Provincial Governor Chom Chanda attended the opening ceremony of the fair, and viewed performances of Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese arts and culture, and visited sales booths at the fair. The fair is intended to raise the value of cross-border trade between Thailand and Cambodia, through Thailand’s eastern cross-border connections, and by expanding the Cambodian market for the Thai goods. Besides the sale of products from the eight eastern provinces of Thailand and cultural and musical performances, business negotiations could be arranged between Thai, Cambodian, Vietnamese and Chinese business persons.The eastern provinces act as an economic border zone connected to other ASEAN states. The fair was quite hectic with many people and tourists buying goods and enjoying Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese cultural performances, celebrities performing on stage and sales promotion activities.
