Thawatchai, 34, got out his spade and dug and found a 4-5 month old male foetus wrapped in a white towel with a flowery pattern. The umbilical cord was still attached. By the makeshift grave in Soi Sridan 9/3 were burnt out joss-sticks. He called the Samrong Neua police whose investigations showed that there had been no pregnant women in the immediate vicinity. They concluded that the child was either aborted or miscarried. DNA checks have been ordered and the woman who left the boy there is being sought.
