There is NOTHING we can do about it, the rivers of molten lava are going to continue flowing into the sea 24/7, forest fires will continue to rage around the world, and possibly worst of all, that pesky sun is going to come out every day warming the place up ! But what we CAN do, he said, is stop the terrible amount of pollution destroying our environment in the way of plastic disposable items, and ensure that all wastewater is adequately treated. And I do believe that any positive change in this nation, is going to come from the youth. They are our only hope. They will eventually get rid of the army. I believe that. Thailand cannot even control it's own air quality issues. The nation experienced the worst pollution in decades, this past year. And what has been done about it? They are blaming vehicles. And diesel engines are not helping. Thailand is one of the few nations on earth, that is still actively promoting the sale of diesel vehicles. Second, what is being done to regulate the burning of sugar cane, which is the chief culprit? Nothing whatsoever. Are they looking into alternative harvesting methods? No. Are they encouraging sugar cane farmers to find alternative crops? No. What are they doing? Nothing at all. Thailand remains one of the least progressive nations on earth, when it comes to the environment. And they are lecturing Indonesia? Where is the moral authority? It is probably going to take kids like Greta, marching on parliament, and humiliating the leaders, before something begins to happen here. Usually in Thailand, the only time we see real progress on an issue, is AFTER the nation has been severely embarrassed internationally. Nothing comes from within naturally. Nothing happens because it is good for the people, or the right thing to do. Chances are, the politicians are owned by the sugar industry lobbies. Average Thai just throw the empty packages, cans, bags around the stores. We have a 7 Eleven on less than 100 meters in our street. With some wind we see all the trash from 7 Eleven blown through the street. Hey 7 Eleven, get those trash cans back in front of your stores !!! Denigrating those who don’t agree with you is just a pathetic way to argue your point but it seems to be the only way climate change activists are be able to justify their claims These kids are protesting to stop greenhouse emissions caused by fossil fuels which they claim is heating the planet and causing sea levels to rise. There is definitely a problem with the environment in the world as many people have said, plastic bags being a major problem, recycling, trash collection etc. With climate change which seems to be the 'in topic' right now and currently there are mass demonstrations all over the place, people especially the younger generation seem to believe that humans are major cause of the climate changing and even famous historian/explorers like David Attenborough seemed to have jumped on the band wagon. The climate is changing and has been for billions of years. Its not something new that has just happened. Humans have been around for a very short time in comparison. The climate changes in cycles, 10,000 years ago there was an ice age and there will be another. Al Gore mad millions from spouting garbage and sadly some people still believe him.
