Can anyone give info on where to buy vitamins/minerals in the Bangkok area?

I got these from Holland and barrett back home, but can't seem to find similar store here.

info appreciated

cheers

Or you could take a look at eating a healthy diet.

Please share your wisdom, how to eat a healthy diet in Thailand? the soil is depleted, minerals in soil depleted, veggies only grow due to massive amounts of unhealthy chemicals being added to the soil, animals reared in a similar fashion, antibiotics the order of the day, chickens never see the light of day, vast majority of fish and prawns are farmed! Where is your healthy diet coming from, do you have a secret source?

I found that vitamins here are expensive and buy mine when in Oz every year, that said, I have 5 months supply of Centrum for Men 50+ that I bought back from Oz last October and have stopped using them until I see my specialist next month to ask him a question before I start reusing them and or stock up again.

They expire in April next year, each container has 60 tablets, they retail here for around 750 baht each, also I have 1 x Healthy Care 500 chewable vitamin C 500mg tablets which expire in July 2021 and Healthy Care 400 Odourless fish oil 2000mg capsules that you can have, all for well below cost plus delivery, if your interested PM me and we can discuss.

Oh how stupid of me I didn't think of that. Plenty of organic stores in Bangkok in case you don't have a vegetable garden (probably not, that requires labour), and refraining from eating processed foods, vegetable oils etc etc, you know, all the stuff that ill people like to eat.

If you were to ask politely I might even divulge the highly secret addresses of these food stores.

Obtaining your vitamins from unprocessed foods, despite use of pesticides etc, is going to be a LOT healthier than stuffing yourself with the stuff that the Western world generally thinks of as "food".

ALL of us have to contend with the fact that most foods are contaminated in some way, not only here in Thailand. Just keep away from the industrial filth that is served up as food.

That would be great, assuming these organic stores are indeed selling "organic" products it will be well worth the daily 1,200 kilometre round trip so I can eat healthily like you ????

I do have a 1 acre garden, yes - your observation that it requires "labour" is quite correct, unfortunately due to the climate here it is not possible to have year round fresh vegetables, in the mean times I will supplement with "quality" supplements while not consuming "processed" products, I like the term "industrial filth" very accurate, especially the oils they use here for frying!

Good health!

Lazada to your door in 2 days.

They have a wide selection and prices seem to be less inflated than the stuff at Boots or Watsons ("Blackmore").

There is a multivitamin sold at basically all pharmacies called VITOP/WITOP which has a meaningful dosage.

You are free to buy stuff like imported "Berocca", few substances, silly overdosed, silly overpriced.

Hello cooked,

I eat as healthy as possible, try to stay away from processed foods ect.

even eating the best healthy foods can still leave you deficient in min/vit, unless you can eat like a elephant

and another poster pointed out that you don't really know what your eating ( could only be labelled as organic)

thanks folks for the info/links, I'll check them out.

I don't eat like an elephant and unless I am missing something I am not missing any minerals or vitamins. I obsessively checked my diet for a year, weighing out quantities, and came to the conclusion that I needed more salt, easily done, and maybe Omega-3, the utility of which is disputed.

  • 4 weeks later...

Not mentioned is Shopee - have found them to have good availability at very reasonable prices (less than double Iherb without wait or import issues on what I checked).  As most retail sellers are much more expensive willing to pay reasonable profit of local reseller to have items in timely manner. Example from check today:

Sentry Senior Vit/Min 50+125

151.39 baht Iherb from USA

290.00 baht Shopee

950.00 baht Lazada

Problem with Shoppee is lack of English website. They miss out on a lot of farang business as a result. I'd love to have an altetnative to Lazada but it's just too much hassle.

Sent from my SM-J701F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Not sure on phone but on computer Chrome does a much better job of translating than Lazada does with dedicated switch.  Yes you do have to select translate to English once or twice but normally it continues to do so for new pages.  I also like to pay by Bangkok Bank transfer which Shopee offers - Lazada does not (although they did for a few weeks) so pay extra overseas fee on credit card as not a fan of having exact change for COD and better anyone in home can receive.

As for above now the 290 baht seller is not available (only had a couple items) and lowest 100 count seems to be about 380 baht - but still a far cry for Lazada prices.  Have also found other medical items on Shopee that are not available on Lazada (even from same seller) and often lower priced if on both.  I still use Lazada and Aliexpress but kind of prefer shopee for many things.
