Our picture shows the aftermath of a collision between a ten wheel truck and a Honda car near the entrance to the Ayanalai municipal offices in Wiang Sa district of Nan in Thailand's far north.

The truck, with Chiang Mai plates, was going from Phrae to Wiang Sa when it hit the car that was parked on the far left of a four lane road, Route 101.

77kaoded reported that the female from Na Noi behind the wheel survived.

A lampost suffered 35,000 baht damage, they said, noting that driver negligence had likely played a role in the accident.

Never stop on the side of the road here...  this type of accident seems all too common.

People falling asleep at the wheel, on their phone or just not paying attention - At least the lorry driver hasn't claimed brake failure.

I had a flat tire a few years back...  it took me 30mins to change the inside rear wheel - it was a frightening experience and spent the majority of the time looking back up the road.

If it was the right hand-side I would have just called a recovery vehicle - its just not worth it.

It's the 11 wheel trucks you have to watch out for.

Well, there was only one driver, the other vehicle was parked (as in not moving).

Always wondered how much one would cost.

Bit out of my price range now, it would seem.

I would want the more expensive model, too - the one with two P's in it.

Oh, well.

Insurance company charged me 3000 euro for one in Europe.
