Emdog
RIP Lifeguards at Jomtien beach are less than useless. Typically spend all day looking at smart phones near that info box near Soi 6. I went up to them and asked them "What would you do if someone were drowning near Soi 11?" they got slight worried look, "Is someone drowning?" Said I didn't know, maybe, but they sure as hell wouldn't know. Once (and only once) I saw a couple of them near Soi 9 Who's their daddy? I wonder if they can even swim. observer90210
Tourists will end up in learning that Thai beach waters are totally unsafe and unhygenic RIP to the victim and her family.
RobbyXNorway
RIP. Hell of a way to end what was supposed to be a nice holiday. Probably the husband in the picture looking distraught. Better to do the swimming in the hotel pool and lounge on the beach instead.

jacko45k
Jeez, what a bad break for the guy. Post mortem and then a struggle to get her body home. Hands wanting money all over the place. I wonder if there is any consular support offered by Kazakhstan in Thailand.
balo
Could have become sudden sick while swimming, no beach lifeguards like in normal tourist countries. If you have a medical condition I would be very careful out in this water. RIP.
