It is actually not even made by Daewoo anymore, but it is a rebranded MG HS (1.5T).

Saab's were actually Subaru. Jaguars were actually Ford. What is the world coming to? Where or will it end? Are we just supposed to buy sh!t and shut up?

Both Kia and Hyundai early models were considered sh*t, they've both come a long way since then.

They’re called Craptivas in Oz for a reason.

This is a new model, hopefully there will be an improvement. Although after reading some local reviews it seem the new Captiva falls short in a few different ways.

It's a low cost large(ish) SUV which is what the market wants

Or GM doesn't want to spend millions on development of a new SUV and just rebrands an MG, increases the price and sells it as a premium version of the HS?

doesn't appear to be the same body shell

It is the same body shell. The picture being used in this topic is only a drawing...

According to wiki: The second generation Captiva, which is a rebadged Baojun 530, was introduced in Colombia in November 2018 and Thailand in March 2019.[

I believe it's made by Daewoo.

Nope.

If it was Korean made it might be a better thing nowadays than being an American Chevrolet.... but it isn't.

It's even worse than being a Chevrolet.

It's Chinese.

"

Thailand’s opening-model some 20 years back was a seven-seat MPV, merely a rebadged Opel Zafira from GM’s sold European subsidiary. Then there’s the Colorado (and its Trailblazer SUV cousin) which shared a skeleton with the D-Max (and MU-X SUV) from Japan’s commercial vehicle specialist Isuzu.

The American bow-tie brand also had its days with passenger cars like the Optra, Sonic and Cruze coming from GM Daewoo, a Korean operation that has already gone bankrupt.

In fact, the car-based Captiva SUV was also developed at GM Daewoo. So where will the pending second-generation Captiva come from? No problem, as GM is now being really open, so to speak, about its 20-year-plus relationship with Chinese maker SAIC.

So yes, the new Captiva has been nourished at the SGMW (SAIC-GM-Wuling) joint venture as a cousin to the Baojun 530 and Wuling Almaz. And because the Almaz is built at GM’s new subsidiary in Indonesia, Chevrolet Sales Thailand has found it fitting to import the Captiva from our Asean member nation via no import duty."

Why do you think all the above are <deleted>?

An MG HS except that it has a different body, engine and transmission.
