Just keeps getting weirder. Can't they just refer to them as "two women"?

Who decides if they are pretty?

Do they carry a official Thai card that designates them as pretty?

What about if they are ugly? Who decides that?

Heaven forbid they are "fatties".

Who teaches journalists in Thailand that every noun needs a stupid adjective preceding it in a headline?

A "pretty" is a job description not necessarily how good looking.  It just means they work as promotional models.

Yaem and Tan, both aged 22, said they were fired at many times. They had no idea why they were attacked. They had neither cut in front of the other driver nor turned on their lights to high beam.

as if that is a valid excuse, except in thailand, to be shot at ?

'Pretty' is a profession, and doesn't necessarily reflect on your looks...

Even if the use of the term "Pretties" is referring to their job title, the use of it in the article is still completely stupid.  Go back and read the whole article but replace the word "Pretties" with "accountants" or "hairdressers".
'...shots were fired at two Thai women described as "Mini Mart Cashiers".'

You just can't make it up, but they do every day.

Should the prison term not relate to how pretty, the "pretty" is ??

So in this case maybe 5 and 3 yrs ??

Obviously, sentencing would be subjective to the judges taste in "pretties" !!

God help them if the judge was an old bat of a woman, the judge may throw them in Jail for a year for looking 'Pretty' in Public .... ?

I assumed "pretty" is their line of work, models promoting products, e.g. beer.

There are some really <deleted>ty attitudes here on Thai visa. These girls didn't ask to be labelled as 'pretty'. They actually happen to appear to be a couple of ordinary, pleasant looking Thai girls that have been mindlessly attacked by some cretin, yet the majority of posters here have sneered and made spiteful comments on their appearance in a unnecessary manner.

How many of these sneering and insulting posters are 'pretty' boys themselves?

Or are they the usual dregs that turn up in the girly bars, sitting on their own, morosely nursing their 'expensive' beer and just love to be spiteful and pathetic?

Or maybe just plain foul smelling, overweight, bulging bellied, unwashed, ugly, unwanted by anyone, uneducated and unskilled slobs with no social manners, attributes or conversation?

What surprised me was the possibility that a Thai person might be annoyed at the use of "full beam" headlights by another driver. It drives me crazy and I had come to think I was the only one in Thailand that felt this way as the majority of  drivers here seem oblivious to it.

I remember being a passenger in a car and a lady driver who wasn't to bad and going down this dark road I said to her Put your Lights on full Beam, whats that she said, she didn't know every car has that option, Dear Mother!

A pretty is not necessarily pretty.

And it is a noun.

Notice in the headline, it's in quotation marks. Even the author wasn't convinced...

Police in Nonthaburi are hunting the driver of a black pick-up after shots were fired at two Thai women described as "pretties".
