Thai Airways (THAI) needs to modify its rehabilitation plan if it is to survive in the face of tight competition, especially since it still has a total debt of over Bt2.45 billion and losses of more than Bt20 billion, despite being able to reduce its debts by Bt48 billion over the past five years.

2 extra holidays for Asean Summit, but only in Bangkok, Nonthaburi

The Cabinet has approved November 4 and 5 as official holidays, but only for Bangkok and Nonthaburi areas, to alleviate traffic congestion at the 35th Asean Summit and Related Summits to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani, deputy government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisoranakul said on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Tuesday (October 15) that he expected the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and the Charoen Pokphand-led consortium to sign a contract on October 25 to develop a high-speed train project linking three major international airports.

Prayut to attend Japanese emperor’s coronation ceremony

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Tuesday after a Cabinet meeting that he would visit Japan from October 21 to 24 as a guest at the coronation ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito after being invited by the Japanese government to attend the event.

Prayut indicates emergency decree on King’s bodyguard units will pass Parliament vote

House committee to invite General Apirat for chat over his controversial speech

The House Committee for Security Affairs, National Borders, Strategy and Reform has agreed to invite Army Commander-in-Chief General Apirat Kongsompong to an “exchange of views” on October 21st over the controversial speech he gave at the Army headquarters last week.
