I gave that a laugh, and when I read it I did fall about laughing, but the truth is it is not at all funny.

Many, many people thought this letter was a joke, until Ms. Grisham confirnmed that it was "real".

Starts off as Monty Hall, ends as a thirteen-year old girl.

Can't see how he can handle this level of criticism and pressure.

Speaker Pelosi sent him to his room, no ice cream for you young man. You can tell that she raised five children, and the president, well not sure what he raised exactly. Doesn't strike me as a hands-on father.

Trump has written down the grounds for him to be found not fit for office and then he signed it.

Why with evidence like this anyone needs to resort to calling Trump names, or making joke misspellings of his name is a mystery.

The evidence is before our eyes, he’s an incompetent idiot, a very dangerous incompetent idiot.

But he's surrounded himself with sycophants making that impossible via article 25.

The United States is now bombing its own base in Syria as Turkish forces prepare to take it over

"Here’s how The Wall Street Journal described it: Our military, quote, carried out air strikes to destroy the Syrian headquarters of the American campaign to destroy ISIS after rapidly pulling Americans from the base.’ We bombed our own headquarters in the fight against ISIS because they were about to be taken over by Turkish backed forces"

https://www.politicususa.com/2019/10/16/trump-bombing-america-base-syria-turkey-takes-over.html

""I captured ISIS. Mattis said it would take two years. I captured them in one month. President Trump on Wednesday called his former Defense secretary James Mattis "the world's most overrated general" during a tense meeting with lawmakers on the situation in Syria."

"You know why? He wasn’t tough enough,"

"Donald Trump has hailed his decision to withdraw US troops in Syria, paving way for a Turkish offensive, as “strategically brilliant”, declaring that the Kurds he had abandoned were “much safer now” and were anyway “not angels”.

The Turkish campaign against Kurdish fighters has strengthened Moscow’s hand in the region and signalled the diminishinginfluence of the US.

Could be possible that Erdogan is clearing space to send the 3.66 million syrian refugees in his country back home.

"A man speaking Russian posted video of an abandoned U.S. base in northern Syria on Tuesday, the same day that Russia announced that its forces had moved into the region."

The video, in which the man says, "Let's see how the Americans lived," was posted on social media from the empty base near Manbij, in Aleppo province about 15 miles from the Turkish border.

So let me get this straight.

US asks kurds to fight isis. Kurds do it whilst losing 11,000 troops. US now says thanks for the help but your on your own now. Bye.

so now all isis is released and US is in more danger.

And all because of 50 US troups that were holding it together.

You do realise that returning 50 troops has started a genocide against a US ally that fights on behalf if at the same time 3000 extra troops are sent to Saudi.

please tell me how that helps US citizens.

There seems to be some debate about the kurds:

one guy says their the genocider and the other says their the genocidee

It was reported this morning that Trump's letter to Erdogan was thrown into the litter bin !

This has confused me because Trump tells us he is a genius , the greatest negotiator ever , a man who is greatly admired and one who has made America great again.

So is it me that is insane , or Erdogan , Trump or the deluded fools who voted him in and continue to go along with his ridiculous brand of pseudo nationalistic , popularist claptrap ?

I doubt he threw it out. Surely it's worth something on ebay.

Interesting missive from the president to Erdogan from last week...

"I'll call you later"?

"You don't want to be responsible for . . . "

Intelligent people don't like to be told what their wants are.  You'd think someone would figure that out by the time they're 70 years old.  "I know it, and YOU know it" -- he's been using that one a lot lately when talking to the press.  Tell me what else I know, chief.

The Turks are not put off by having blood on their hands, and are quite proud of it.

Maybe a little more history reading and less television, Donny.

Standing before arenas full of adoring fans who don't know a socialist from a social worker have accelerated his brain decay.

He may have a new problem: his own party invoking the 25th Amendment

Childish name calling of domestic political opponents is one thing, toadying up to foreign strongmen and stunts like this is quite another.  You know the country is in bad shape when suddenly John Bolton is the wise man.  But they would have to move fast before Pence himself gets tossed out.

Imagine that, dueling impeachments!  Like the old song says "if the right one don't get ya then the left one will."

Let's see,

1. Trump called Erdogan and told him that he was removing the US forces from  Northern Syria near the Turkish Border.

2. Erdogan invades Northern Turkey killing Kurdish forces and civilians.

3. Trump sends Pompeo and Pence to Turkey to negotiate a ceasefire, and they announce that they have successfully negotiated a 120 hour ceasefire to give time for the Kurds to evacuate the  area.  If they do it will be a permanent ceasefire.

5  Trump claims a victory that only he could have pulled off.

6.  The Turkish Foreign Minister says that it is not a ceasefire it's only a 120 period where the Kurds and their families could vacate the over 4000 square mile area that the US administration effectively gave to Turkey.

So, Trump created the problem and now he is claiming victory for "solving" it.  Where is Assad, the Russians and Iranians?  How can Trump give land belonging to Syria and protected by the Russians and Iranians to Turkey without their involvement in any "talks".  In addition, the 4000+ square miles is home for the Kurds and does he expect them to desert their homes and move out in 5 days.

It's just another of Trump's cooked up fiascos in an attempt to make him look good by "solving" it.  If the Kurds don't up and run then it's their problem since he negotiated a solution.

I think he just did !

The Turkish foreign minister just said that Turkey did no agree to a ceasefire, it;s only a 120 hour "cessation" to let the Kurds relocate their families and said absolutely nothing that agreed with Pence that once they leave their wiould be a permanent ceasefire.  It's just Trump et all putting their spin on it!

Russia will forever be thankful to Trump for vacating Syria for them and Turkey. Trump has been duped by Erdogan and Putin.

You don’t know why you hate Russia or Putin, it’s only because you have been brainwashed by liberal media. Grow up!

The world smells America's extreme weakness now under the bizarre and failed leadership of 45. It's ironic that the American president ran on MAGA and projecting strength and to fight the world laughing at the U.S. and the result has been the exact opposite. So Erdogan of course is going to ignore any noise from 45. (Especially in the Middle East, the translation of MAGA is MRGA. R for Russia.)

"For Russia, Trump’s presidency is a gift that keeps on giving. The Kremlin’s propagandists see no acceptable alternative among any viable presidential candidates in 2020."

“We should send a message to the American president: ‘Don’t call people names. Don’t fight. Don’t pick your nose. It’s nasty and unacceptable.’” Host Evgeny Popov said that the Turkish president threw Trump’s letter in the trash and remarked: “But who wouldn’t? The only thing missing was for Trump to call Erdoğan ‘dude.’”

so, let me get this straight, you want us to send in our troops and have them die for the kurds?  in other words, you care more for non-usa citizens then you do for usa citizens?

Trump lied to you again.

Those troops are not coming home. They are going to Iraq. But Im sure you will now think thats ok.

well at least getting out of syria is a first step.. the real liberals, anti-war coalition should be the ones pushing him to complete the end of the iraq mess as well, the iranians already moved their people in and the Iraq Army that the US left there disentigrated and never came back, no reason to stay, 'isis' type groups in the sunni western iraq will always be there..

Now he is leaving 200 special forces troops in Syria to protect the oil fields when He wouldn't leave troops in Syria to protect our allies, the Kurds.  Just the mere presence of the troops kept Turkey from attacking them.  Turkey would never knowingly kill an American solder!  And know Lidseu Graham has jumped back on his wagon stating that this was a good move and that money can be made from protecting the oil wells.   Where did these maniacs come from?
