Honda click engine refurb

Recommended Posts

Afternoon,

I have a 2013 Honda click 125i with just over 83k on the clock.

It needs an engine refurb, any ideas where I can get it done or a price. The local Honda dealer said 12k with no warranty.

Location on the island not an issue, any suggestions or experience of if this is a good price?

As far as I understand from broken English and Thai a replacement but the "new" engine is a refurbished one.. Not new

When you say it needs..why do you think it needs   lack of power ?  strange noise ? , smokey exhaust ?

The  road side shops ( shacks) round my way ( Jomtien)  charge about 3000 baht   for a total engine strip down but they only replace the bare minimum  so in my case it was the piston and rings +  crank shaft bearings..

its almost worth 3000 baht just to avoid the pain in the butt of removing all the plastic bits just to get to anything on the engine and then putting them all back on 😝

The local roadside garages near me charge 6k for a rebuild.

Had my Honda Click (burned all the oil in 100Km) done, and it's been fine ever since.

New valves, bearings, pistons, rings and a few other bits.

ChiangMai, can't imagine the prices are much different anywhere else in Thailand.

I'd have thought that the OP will get a similar price by a local mechanic.

One piston should be enough, methinks.

Perhaps  a new timing chain and valve seats should be part of it.

Next time you change oil, don't forget to fill it up with new oil.   Seriously, what was the reason for this 'mishap'?

The "girly"  driving it  only ever put "go juice" in, never checked/changed the oil..eventually the rocker cover gasket failed

and because of the cylinder head being laid over at 90 degrees to vertical all the oil leaked out and it seized up.. with the whole engine being covered by the plastic bits you can't see the oil leaking.
