Obama is an honest guy so it is unlikely he would lie and say something positive about Old Slow Joe. Unless it was along the lines of having done a good job protecting his white flank.

I think I can speak for most progressive Canadians in saying we hope Trump gets goated into tweeting support for Scheer.

Obama is honest huh? And Santa Clause and the Easter bunny really exist.

I’m 68 and still waiting to hear a modern politician that never tells lies.

Just Google: “list of Obama lies”

As I'm a life long socialist who considers even the US democrats to be too far right for comfort, I think you maybe barking......up the wrong tree

I've explained why I support Trump, and that's for the damage he's doing to the USA

If today’s U.S. Democrats are to far right for your comfort, you must be a communist of some sort?

Marxist-Leninist? Maoist? Or do you prefer the Pol Pot...Khmer Rouge or North Korea type Communism?

I’m a Canadian who was hoping for Ted Cruz as President, with Marco Rubio as V.P.   I didn’t want Trump.

But I’d take Trump any day over any of the Democrats running these days. The only thing they are missing is the Red Flag.

I'm not, so I cancel you out. I'll be insulted if Trump doesn't jump in  too and endorses Scheer.

Scheer is Conservative in name only. In reality...he’s just Liberal Lite. Not sure why anyone would vote Trudeau. Weed smoking former part time high school drama teacher who fails to support free speech and free press for all, tells veterans they ask for more than the government can afford while at the same time giving a convicted terrorist $10.5 million dollars,  Trudeau has prayed in even the extremist Wahabi mosque.

I’d say even more, but the TV censors would probably punish me.

By the way, everything I said above can be easily verified in seconds with a simple search.

That’s why my family and I are voting for Maxime Bernier.

I was an early supporter of The Reform Party. People said we were nuts to vote for a fringe party. But they did manage eventually to change the landscape for the conservatives in Canada. Maybe it's the way to go again. I think we are looking at a minority government this time around anyway. Time to get a beach head.

Just goes to show you what a hypocrite Obama is.  Trudeau was found to have been in "blackface" numerous times but Obama still supports him.  If it had been Trump, Obama would have been calling for his crucifixion.

Trump doesn't do blackface, he does orangeface exclusively.

Well at least I studied Politics, Economics and the History of Modern Communism in college, among other subjects.

And I managed to get in the top third of my class.

I also studied, and continue to study other subjects such as Ancient History, particularly Ancient Greece and Rome, astronomy and Meteoritics, Geology and Paleoclimatology.

I was actually a leftist/Socialist quasi Marxist-Leninist student organizer until I woke up.

I’ve read Marx and Engels, works of Lenin, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, Frederic Bastiat, Jefferson, Boaz, Trotter ...ad infinitum.

Today I hate all forms of authoritarianism and totalitarianism.

I have no time for things like Fascism and Communism and other forms of dictatorship.

There is more than one form of “Political Spectrum”. I’m not sure which one you are referring to.

My first and greatest love is learning about life and the universe.

I will always be a student, and my library of books drives my wife crazy. She’s not much of a reader I’m afraid.

Yes, I do know a little bit about Politics and Economics.

Now run along, and please do have a nice day. ????

You can't be a racist or a hypocrite on the left. The left has the copyright for the usage of those terms.

Nice to meet you on here. I just hope Trudeau will be gone, although I think he might get a minority government. So we might have to wait until next time.

I really don’t care for Scheer. He’s “Liberal Lite” as I said, and his support for free speech and free press are only empty words. His actions say otherwise.

Naturally I can’t support the socialist N.D.P., or Elizabeth May’s Green Party or the Bloc.

That leaves Maxime Bernier. I like his platform and really want to vote for the P.P.C.  The problem is they are so new and not well established with the voting public yet.

So I’m afraid of splitting the vote and then Trudeau stays in for sure.

This is not an easy election.

Best wishes to you. Take care.

It’s lonely being a freedom loving Canadian on Thai Visa.

Doesn’t seem to be a lot of freedom loving members here. Most appear to be authoritarian loving leftists.

And all your vast knowledge of politics (as well as an amazing range of other subjects!) leads you to conclude that anyone left of the middle ground of the US Dems probably "prefer the Pol Pot...Khmer Rouge or North Korea type Communism"?

Tell me, was your degree earned at Trump U?

So all you have is typical insulting ad hominem. About what I expect from the far right and far left.

  Pathetic.

Where did I claim to have a vast knowledge of politics and other subjects ? ?

I said I studied them, and did very well, and continue to study. I didn’t say my knowledge is vast.

I know something about these subjects.

There is also a great deal that I don’t know.

If you have a much greater knowledge of these subjects than I do....wonderful ...then I bow down to your great accomplishment and great knowledge. Wonderful for you.

But if you continue to get educated or educate yourself through life....you might learn even more someday. Because your postings almost appear to show you to need more study.

I believe I’m in the world to learn. That’s why I will always be a student and continue to learn until the day I die.

It’s also the reason I became a practitioner of the Dhamma Vinaya.

I don’t believe education ends when you graduate from college.

This isn't very diplomatic but here goes.

I think Canadians know that the vast majority of Americans don't think about Canada at all much less care who is PM or even know who is PM.

Canadians on the other hand are generally very up on U.S. politics.

Have a fair election and get on with it.

What do you expect when you refer to the users here as ' Most appear to be authoritarian loving leftists.  ', and '

Make those statement IMO ok, but then don't complain when others ask questions of you. And I'm glad to see you consider a reference to Trump University an insult.

Wow, what a long winded deflection. I hope you realize that implying anyone left of the Dems is a fan of Pol Pot et al is not a sign of neither an inquisitive nor a learned mind.

Canadians are not much interested in their own politics either. The entire federal election is announced, campaigned, and wrapped up in something like 45 days. And campaign contributions are limited to very small amounts, in comparison to the US. Which keeps everything low key, with small advertising budgets and Not much for corporate influence.

America on the other hand has an entire industry revolving around elections. It is shocking the energy that goes into it. So Canadians probably get 95% more American politics in their day than Canadian. Especially when you factor in the obsession with American politics from the entertainment industry and Hollywood.

I don't know if there has ever been a Canadian movie about a Canadian Prime Minister. Nor have I seen a TV show (entertainment not documentary) based on our politics. I stand to be corrected however.

i wonder what the carbon footprint is for the american elections ?

ohhhh the irony.

as for our elections about to happen. the same will continue. rich will get richer and the poor will squabble over politics.

how about a little humor to lighten the thread.....anyone remember this quote. classic.

Of course Canadiens are more interested in US politics than Americans are in Canadian politics.  everyone always slows down and looks at a car accident!!

I think Canadians are interested in their politics enough to not allow it to become  the circus that it is in the US.

Americans can learn a couple of things from the Canadians.

I find this story very hard to believe. We have all seen recently how terrible the democrats consider any interference into foreign countries elections. Obama could no way be such a rank hypocrite.

Maybe he could tweet some support for sleepy Joe Biden, his ex vice president for all those years. That would be more appropriate.

Easy to believe and understand. The Democrats, like all left liberal pc parties practice "do as we say not as we do" and are totally hypocritical in doing exactly what they criticize others for.

Obama - interferes in Brexit Referendum - OK according to them

           - interferes in French Presidential election - OK according to them

           - interferes in forthcoming Canadian election - OK by them

Russian interference, not proven, in US POTUS not OK. Only because they claim that's why Hilary lost. If she won, and the Russians had helped her, they wouldn't have said a word!

Wasn't this the Yankee president who interfered in the Brexit campaign by telling the poor Brits that if they voted to Leave they would move to the back of the queue when it came to getting an economic agreement with Uncle Sam....?

Yes ... back o' the line queue ... but Yankee from Hawaii? Nopes.
