I'm hearing much the same message on Twitter.

So we are at the point where we just accept whatever terrible deal is on offer?

It's not as if the EU has worn us down with it's tenacious negotiating - we have worn ourselves down negotiating with ourselves!

What else can we do? Wait for the EU to give us all the benefits we currently enjoy for none of the responsibilities? Not going going to happen.

Go back to the drawing board and have them decide enough is is enough and out we go with No Deal?

Slowly bleed to death as/if we are granted extension after extension?

Let's quit arguing and blaming one another and just MAKE IT STOP!

But the problem with this deal is it provides no long term certainty. Much that was in the binding withdrawal agreement is pushed into the political declaration  to be decided later. NI futures is uncertain - there they  can decide every couple of year to change it. never ending extensions are replaced by never ending transitions.

It all goes back to invoking article 50 for political purposes, before we had and idea what leave meant(other than leave)

This has gotten pretty screwed up hasn't it. Usually you can see the way a political issue is developing, but this has more twists and turns than a crime novel.

I read last night words from Junker that sounded like he was saying to Parliament, pass this because we will give no extensions. Parliament really screwed themselves when they wrecked Boris' negotiating strategy, wrongly in my opinion.

Now it seems Boris does not have the votes to pass this without the DUP. So it seems we are back in 'extension land', which is appopriate since the EU never seem to tackle any actual issues, but agree to meet later, kicking the can down the road and hoping that the problem will solve itself if no action is taken for long enough (think Greek debt).

If it were not for Brexit there would have been an election already, scheduled or not. Most of the MPs likely to lose their seats are remainers who are sitting on these green benches courtesy of leave voters, who had trusted the main party manifestos and who put them there. They will be ejected at next opportunity and they will know that already.

I think will be very bad for Labour...37% of Labour voters voted Leave. I think they will get crushed in marginals....and if Boris and the Brexit party agree not to split the vote in key constituencies, then I can see the Tories plus Brexit party with an overall majority.

The Tories will fare badly in the next election if this deal is done.....they need the election to be about Brexit....if the deal passes or there is no deal than the election might be about poverty, inequality of living standards and then the Tories will be minced beef.

So vote leave promised we would remain in the single market. People voted based on that. Why are we not staying in the single market?

Johnson said there would never be a border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK but here we are trying to do that.

They lied. Again and again.

There is no mandate for this.

The leave win has been hijacked by Brexit fundamentalists.

Because for over 3 years "negotiations" were managed by Teresa May and her chosen Remainer cabinet and it took them that long to screw it up for the UK.

Boris inherited this steaming pile of bovine excretia and has had less than 3 months to deal with it. And he has tried despite Tory party MPs quitting, parliament hogtying him and that "nice" Gina Miller getting the courts onto him.

Teresa May must be laughing her socks off at this lot yet she is the main person to blame for it, and of course David Cameron who started it off knowing that at the referendum Remainers would win hands down. Har de har de har.

And then we can apply to re-join ????

But we have a deal, one that the EU has decided they will give us and all the leavers are hoovering it up and high fiving each other.  I can accept it but have no illusions. We have been shafted good and proper

It seems a very bad deal all round - effectively May's  deal without the concessions she got from the EU . Other than being able to say we left the EU with a deal I can't see what it gives us.  Very bad for the economy, splits NI from the UK, leaves us in a terrible negotiating position, does not protect workers rights. I can't see either side of the brexit devid being happy with it.

Protect workers rights?such as zero hour contracts, the gig economy, bogus self employment status to get round the minimum wage, and a glut of cheap migrant labour courtesy of " freedom of movement "? I,'ll have a pint of what you've been drinking, and before any of our pseudo armchair socialists pipe up don,t forget in Labour's last 3 terms of office they didn,t rescind any of Thatcher draconian anti trade union laws.

There may be quite a few from the Labour benches too especially those constituencies who voted to leave but whose MPs voted to remain.

It will be interesting to see who will be left when the smoke clears.

But these are all for the large part, the Tory party letting employers get around EU workers rights. Most of the rest of the EU is much more strict.

When the government talk about the UK having a more flexible workforce remember this is what they mean.

The remainers were offered a general election and bottled it.

Are we talking about the same Brexit?  Johnson was so desperate to agree a deal the EU rubbed their hands together and you end up with May's deal mark 2 and Northern Ireland being screwed in the process.  Boris would have agreed to anything rather than dying in the ditch!

So who's going to protect workers rights?it's certainly not the eu or labour.

You are responding to a bloke who doesn’t know why the DUP are annoyed by this deal....

I think you're totally out of touch with the wishes of the majority of people in Northern Ireland (and Eire for that matter where there is little appetite for unification).

You are assuming a false equivalence between people's views on Brexit and the UK.

I've wondered about this too, bearing in mind (IIRC) N.I. voted to remain as part of the EU.

The DUP may not like it, but the majority appear to be be getting their wish - for at least a few years.

Well you would assume that if it dosnt fit your narrative and view, nothing unusual there.

I go with what friends and family both sides of the border say and what i read and hear from Irish friends in England, I get over there semi regular and its plainly obvious things have changed a lot eg, pubs re loyalty arnt like they used to be,people chat to strangers without suspicion, many family now have relatives both sides, can and do go party with no issues, unlike before. They arnt going to let that go now they have civil normality. For sure times and attitudes are changing fast. How long since you were in Ireland, either side ?

A deal or no deal satisfies the referendum and democratic will of the people finally being carried out as promised and thats what really matters. I dont really care what terms are bickered about. They will do and say whatever they want as usual anyway and ALL politicians lie, most of the time.

Think a lot of people both those wanting a full on no deal and those wanting a full revoke are crapping themselves this farce might just be coming to a close without their ideal result. Tough luck, thats a negotiation for you.

Point being that both sides are content with the current situation with no hard border. no army and freedom of movement between the two Countries .

They seem happy and content with that and whether they are officially united or in or out the UK /EU isnt as important
