I want some place to keep my tools and work on the motorcycles.

That's something I gave up when I could afford to pay people to get their hande oily and when I got motorcycles that didn't need to be worked on.

YMMV.

I too wish to have a garage..but get by with the kitchen sink and living room coffee table for most "projects" there's an empty apartment down the hallway for more messy stuff and paint [emoji39]

I think this is one of the biggest mistakes people make when they come here.

They repeat all the accumulation of stuff they accumulated in their home country.

I sold, gave away, got rid of everything and came here with just a suit case.

What a great relief and so much happier not to have the burden of "stuff".  A garage full of meaningless "stuff".

As one gets older I think it is much better and less stress to minimize things.

Not accumulate things.

To each their own on this.  Get a garage and watch it fill up with what really??

Jokes aside, I know some guys back in Australia who did a similar thing, 10-12 of them all chipped in a bought a factory unit, they each had a shipping container, bench/workspace. Common welder, compressor, a common area with beer in vending machines (no arguments), a pool table etc. One guy was doing up a car, another repairing TVs. Most guys spent more time at the shed than back home.

I have had some friends do the same.  There were a few issues with shared responsibilities and people crashing there (safety), but it was a fun spot to visit. A lot nicer in many ways than your own shed, depending on your personality.

I miss my little workshop, If I buy this house Iam renting I will put a sliding door from the spare bedroom into the carport and turn that into a workshop.

Why do you keep your wife's cosmetics in your workshop?

I miss not having a wife since she found a new source of income...but I can always rent another one....

You can get a garage here the same way as you got the one you had back home?

I couldn’t do it.

All around the world people live in apartments/condos, it’s not for me always lived in a house.

I have too many big boy toys, so somewhere to store and tinker is a must.

I think you guys are confusing a garage with a shed and I'm not even an Aussie!
