taninthai
It’s easy and a pain in the butt at the same time....you really need agent to help with all paperwork for company registration and visa ....cost 70,000 to 80,000 all in then around 10,000 bht per month social fund and accounting, not worth doing if your not actually running a proper company.
Peterw42
A restaurant can employ you as a specialist chef and get you a work permit etc but unless you are actually a specialist chef they will more than likely employ a Thai chef for 300 baht a day. the restaurant would need to say a Thai cant do the job.
PatOngo
Your construction company will never compete with local companies!
Popular Post G950
Lets not forget that if you open a company in Thailand you can only obtain 1 work visa for an expat for every 4 thais. So you if your construction company employed 5 expats it would need to also employ 20 thais. The reason very few foreigners actually open a company in Thailand is because the local laws are very unfavourable for doing so. 3

If you are married you just need 2 employees and only (1 million capital), as for the constuction company i am not sure!

ChipButty
Hey Paddy, it seems like you are new to Thai Lie Land or you wouldn't be asking them kind of questions, my answer to you is keep your brains where they should keep your dick in your pants and keep your money in the bank preferably in Ireland

The question is if you really will see that as an easy way when all that comes with it becomes reality.
moontang
Kind of reminds me of horse racing in California. For every dollar the track makes, the State makes 8....without doing a goddamn thing. If you are selling foreign food..burgers, tacos, steaks...it would be more extreme. Import food taxes are a complete ripoff here. No one will be happy. Staffing is a nightmare. Theft is problematic. There is way too much capacity in the tourism industry, and increasingly longer low seasons. Great chefs fail on a daily basis.
Neeranam
There are agents that get you a Visa despite not qualifying. Are there agents that can get you a WP?
OneMoreFarang
Foreigners working for a Thai company = headache for the Thai company. Some time ago I didn't have a work permit. I knew the Thai owners of two Thai only companies and I asked them, independent from each other, if they would help me to put me officially on their payroll. They had already the required registered capital and they had enough Thai employees. Both told me they think about it and then both told me the following: The moment when a Thai company hires a farang is the moment the Thai authorities look at all the details like tax payments, etc. It seems lots of companies get away with not so exact book keeping - if they are 100% Thai. But when they hire a farang they won't get away with that anymore. Conclusion: Foreigners working for a Thai company = headache for the Thai company. If they don't have to it's much better for them to have no foreigner employed.

exemplary21
You don't need to form a company. You can just register the business at the local administrative organisation.
