International lifesaving chief speaks out on Phuket lifeguards

PHUKET: International Life Saving Federation President Graham Ford AM has called for Phuket’s lifeguards to be trained to international standard, for more to be done to ensure tourists are aware of the danger of drowning at Phuket’s beaches and for local authorities to make the provision of trained, qualified lifeguards a priority.

Electricity outage to hit Mai Khao

PHUKET: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has announced that the electricity supply will be temporarily shut off in parts of Mai Khao on Friday (Oct 25) as work is carried out on installing new high-voltage cables.

PHUKET: Proceeds from “Patong Cosplay Beach Run” – one of the highlights of this year’s Phuket Carnival – will be used to buy medical equipment for Patong Hospital, President of the Patong Hotel Association Salisa Limsakul announced on Friday (Oct 18).

The final event in the 2019 the Thailand Super Series will return to the Chang International Circuit in Buriram on October 25-27 and will see Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik driving the new Audi R8 GT3 Evo for the first time on this circuit. The racer previously used the Audi R8 GT3 Ultra in Round 2 of the series.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. diplomat told congressional investigators this week that he raised concerns about Hunter Biden's position with a Ukrainian energy company in 2015, only to be turned away by an aide to then-Vice President Joe Biden, a person familiar with the testimony said on Friday.
