The huge device has been put there by a Bangkok university to help with the city's air pollution problem caused by PM 2.5 particles. Dr Surat Bualert of Kasetsart University's environmental science department explained it was essentially a giant filter. In a video he explained about the device's specifications including its motor and filter.
