Johnson faces perilous Brexit ratification after deal vote blocked

English humour is a typical thing for the U.K..

There is also the "figure of speech" thing, apparently saying something must not always be considered to the letter of it.

So, it seems that
"Leave" "Brexit"
can now be considered as "English Humour"
or/and
"A figure of speech".

Slight correction only as an observation.

‘British’ humour comes in various guises.

Irrespective of where a Brit is globally the only thing typical is many of our overseas friends & cousins may struggle with banter, flippancy, dark humour (MoD) & slang without asking questions. [emoji38]

Yep, Leave+Brexit are all one big joke on the gullible working class by the rich, persuading them to vote for something that would cost them their jobs, their rights and workers protection whille making them even richer

Quite. People are so tied up in the today they are just not interested in the tomorrow.

Once out of the EU, what then? The great US trade deal, but what if the US insist that any trade deal must include ISDS, where does that leave the UK?

How about a referendum to join the EU.

Frustrated….?  looks like it …. better start accepting ….,this deal is/was / the only version possible …, can be written in other type or color of letters if wished, or even on parchment instead of paper as we see U.K. like living in the glorious "deceased" past glory....???? but the content will be the same …. or nothing .

Sorry but that's it.....Welcome in "Hotel California" once more ….

Stunning irony!

So refute his post with something at least half intelligent instead of the repetitive, inane dross completely devoid of any intelligence or substance you only seem to be capable of

The economists will be fine... and as you are not in that 99.9% don't you go worrying about it.

I suspect we will have have a crack at something along the Keynesian model; maybe make a few things and sell them, provide a few services and then buy stuff we need from others - including European countries. You know, the sort of stuff we have always done.

So basically you haven't got a plan and have no idea how we will manage ?

Ah - democracy - a term many use without knowing what it means and some use as a means to impose their will of the populace

Remainers tied up in the today. Leavers interested in the tomorrow - we can see where the EU wants to go.

IF that's supposed to be some kind of comparison you'd better get back to the drawing board! OR draining board!

Why not delay until 1st November? That'd be very funny!

Not so much holding on to industrial systems... The UK has made as good, if not better, transition as many other economies in moving to a post-industrial economy. The pre-eminence of the City is but one example. However...what the Hard Brexiteers have fraudulently tried to represent is a promised return to industrial production, the demise of which, as everything else, has been blamed on EU membership. Appealing to the uneducated and old, resentful at being left behind in a knowledge economy, the appeal of dead-end populism still attractive to some.

The City has been pre-eminent for a lot longer than the EU has existed. The rest of this is false accusation and fabrication, indicating severe frustration.

And remainers can see where Johnson and his backers want to go.....out without a deal and then off to their offshore havens with their winnings.

Then he should jump into bed with Nigel Farage and guarantee that outcome.

Unlikely, as he has brokered a deal already.....over to you HoC.
