A long barrel definitely helps accuracy. I used to own a double barrel 0.410 shotgun, rather antique, made in Belgium. Very long barrel, a great gun for snakes up to 20 metres.

At another time, I owned a short barrel pump action 12 gauge, before they were banned. Couldn't hit a barn door with it.

But I am sure if an intruder would have shown up and if you would have pointed it at him he would have been impressed. ????

So would I, if the positions were reversed.

Given the gun safe storage regulations in Australia, an intruder would have to send me a telegram first for my threat to be effective.
