House Speaker Chuan Leekpai has ordered parliamentary legal affairs officials to explore the possibility of taking legal action against Thai Civilized party leader Mongkolkit Suksintharanont for allegedly attempting to smuggle explosives into Parliament to “test the efficiency of security measures”.

Mongkolkit also had two bomb scanners and a representative of the scanner manufacturer with him, as he carried an amount of suspected ordnance to test detection ability of existing equipment.

Dr. Sukit Atthopakorn, an advisor to Mr. Chuan, told the media this afternoon that he was not sure what Mr. Mongkolkit’s real motive was, but wondered if it might have been some sort of marketing exercise.

he was going to offer the scanner his mate had for half price, could have saved fuel for the subs, has anyone told them that no sub can make a move now without it being plotted by other nations?

The Sub is an attempt to feel like big boys

The same man who campaigned on being ‘anti-dictatorship’. When he got his measly 60,000 votes, he decided to join the coalition. Asked why he had said he was anti-dictatorship but joined Prayut and co, he said, and I quote, “I was just talking. Saying anything to get into parliament first”.

Also read about what the labour minister said about workers’ rights in Thailand and adhering to international laws. These kinds of people are making decisions on behalf of human beings. Shameful.

He was going to test them on the 5th of November?????

Remember remember the 5th of November.  I really enjoyed that V movie.   But as for this guy, of course he should be charged for carrying around explosive material.  Regardless of his motives, or intents, he should be prosecuted.  No need to bring up politics or government in the litigation. The man seemingly freely admits to what he did.  So unless he is a licensed explosive carrier into public places......

Plenty of people have done this, ..Tested Existing Security apparatus, ... I think that when they tested the older Airport Scanners, in real time at a US Airport, ....  the Agency that was doing the test, ... got a REAL Lot of Explosives ad Guns through it !!! .... Like not a bad Idea to keep the equipment up to date. As well the terrorists are Pretty smart these days also ! .... (Well some of them ? ...)
