Popular Post Yinn
Good morning. Last six months (about) the schools, orbortor and community talk a lot about the foam and plastic problem. Good news when people work together. Most food shop in Ranong and Phangnga now not use foam or plastic same before. Have the new eco takeaway container. They biodegradable. Not need to burn. No air pollution. Just feed it to the pet worm. I do this one to show it. I just put half in, to see it work how. It take 10 day for my worms to eat it. 21
Popular Post Yinn
Now after ten day you can see my eco worm eat it already. Good or the air, goodfor the ocean (no plastic and foam), good for the earth, good for the worm and good for the tree. Good solution. 17

Nyezhov
Nice looking crawlers. Ready to tempt a fat Bass or Rainbow. what do you do with them? Its usually 100 baht for 12 in the USA. I have been seeing those Grace Simple containers here and there in BKK. The Crab Fried Rice girl near my Palace of Love uses them. They tend to keep the food hotter and moister than foam. I bet they are far more expensive though until economies of scale kick in, Edited November 2, 2019 by Nyezhov

Moonlover
Very interesting. Kudos to the O/P for his curiosity. Thanks for posting this @Yinn I recall that sometime ago edible food containers were being used in Hong Kong. Eat your soup then have the bowl for afters! They is a company in Hong Kong, Vegware, that make a whole range of biodegradable food packaging. There is an answer to the plastic problem.

Jane Dough
The UK came up with a biodegradable crisp packet. It was 11 pence (four baht) each. Made from eucalyptus. At that price absolutely useless. Rooster
Beggar
That's a good idea. And if the worms are fat enough you can eat the worms. Thais are used to eat insects and for sure will find a recipe that tastes great. In Vietnam you can get for instance this dish below. Great starter for the day if eaten as breakfast.

About 2-3 baht for one container. I surprise nearly every shop now is using. I think pressure from the orbortor and because education now everyone know we must do it. The other brand is cheaper one. About one baht for one container. But you right, the gracz brand keep the food very fresh feeling long time. And the worm eat it quicker also! also all the resort westcoast, Kao Lak, etc now use paper straw, this container etc. will make big different for the world. Use it, then it disappear one month forever, no pollution. Plastic for more than one hundred year. i see that Phuket place still use plastic/foam. I hope that change soon. And all thailand and all the world. https://m.facebook.com/gracz.co.th/

I have yet to see containers like those in the supply chain in the US and the eco ones I have seen are poor quality. I wonder what "glue" they use. Some type of organic wax perhaps. The trick for Thailand is getting rid of the noodle soup bags.

Popular Post holy cow cm
Yeah it would be nice to take a swim in the sea and not have garbage hit or wrap around you or see on the beach. I am willing to do my part even more than I have been over the years about properly disposing waste. Thing about the new containers is that is pushes the food price up a little bit to the consumers. For me it is ok. One thing we will see on the market coming soon is they are now making straws out of rice.

FarFlungFalang
Great topic and the price of the containers should go down if they are adopted by everybody everywhere and maybe Prayuth could get a photo of himself eating out of one of these containers to counter the other infamous photo of him eating from a plastic container and show everyone his is not a "bad guy"?
