When I look at the cesspool Bangkok these day I see and smell a great improvement over the past 30 years and although I don't profess to know most Thais or what they think I tend to think that most Thais do care about stuff like this when it's in thing to do.
Lacessit
Now, if someone can just develop plastic waste so Thais can grow mushrooms with it, instead of burning forests.......

Well if these containers take off you might be able to collect enough and if you have enough worms to eat them you can sell the worm castings to sell to grow mushrooms. Familyonthemove
Impressive. We had a 'wormarium' at the office when I worked in UK - all the leftovers from lunch went in to it. Think I'll get one for the Thai office - but all our leftovers seem to be taken home in plastic bags.

They the pet. Also if I eat them, who will eat the rubbish? But if you want to try. Maybe carbonara or bolognaise be delicious for you, and your thai friend maybe worm kee mau. 1

But if you not have dog or chicken the worm can eat it (need a lot of worm). But the worm can eat thing that dog and chicken not eat, the paper and leaf.

Popular Post Yinn
Yesterday I go to the fresh market. Buy some mackerel (they cook it alteady) Before, it usually come with foam box and plastic wrap. But Yinn very happy now they use the banana leaf and the banana wood. So= no foam and more food for me worm. Everything improve here a lot now. I have hope other province will copy and other country. The seller sell more than 100 pack everyday. Some pack have one fish, some pack have two fish. so maybe now less 1000 foam pack every week. Just one seller. If every seller do it, = millions less foam . And a lot of food for worm. 4

Yes. But this banana wood from the tree is the “by product” of growing for banana to eat. Use something they just throw away before. Now use it, replace foam, and then give to my worm. = good for everyone. And the worm!

I have one question.....The banana leaf and stem replaces the foam box or tray but what about the plastic film alternative to keep the contents in it ? It has some use limitations compared to modern plastic films but for the short term use of see through wrap for "fresh" food product should be ideal although it will not stick to itself the way cling film does. Maybe vendors could practice the simple art of using bio degradable string to complete the package? When I was young many things were wrapped in waxed paper and tied with string and/or cellotape. Then along came plastics and Sellotape. Now it seems the latter just hang about too long.

Tayaout
No need to kill termites. They are there for a good reason. ???? "Termites may be beneficial to your compost pile because they were designed to find nourishment in decomposing plants, so naturally, they can assist your compost pile by breaking down large branches and twigs and other decaying plant life you throw in. They work together with other insect decomposers commonly found in compost, such as earthworms, centipedes, and ants, to break down large organic matter that can then be further decomposed by smaller microorganisms to consume, to finally be turned into a nutrient-rich soil." https://www.hi-techtermitecontrol.com/termite-control-san-diego/does-composting-attract-termites-part-one/ Edited November 27, 2019 by Tayaout
