Dont understand, please explain your point.

In your previous post you said

You have threads and hundreds of posts about people complaining about immigration in their own countries, letting anyone in, diluting their nationality-

That is a horse of a different color because in other countries they are allowing immigration of large numbers of displaced migrants.

In Thailand they are not allowing immigrants hence they issue NON Immigrant visa's

They are nothing more than temporary passes easily revoked at anytime. With rules that are easily changed at any time.

Becoming a citizen in say the USA is as simple as having a temp residence visa (green card) for 2 years Then a perm resident for 1 year. Then apply & easily pass a citizenship test. You have then fully immigrated into the country. With all the rights of any other citizen

A far cry from Non Immigrant Visa's extended in Thailand to foreigners & a far cry from the problem you compared it to in other countries

Look up Immigrate ..........

im·mi·grate

/ˈiməˌɡrāt/

verb

North American

verb: immigrate; 3rd person present: immigrates; past tense: immigrated; past participle: immigrated; gerund or present participle: immigrating

come to live permanently in a foreign country.

I have never generally noticed people on here differentiating to that degree. It appears to be far more if they are non white, muslim, male, from Africa then they can get back to their own country, disregarding whether they are immigrant, non immigrant etc

This forum is such a strange place some times. You have threads and hundreds of posts about people complaining about immigration in their own countries, letting anyone in, diluting their nationality- on the other hand they are bemoaning Thailand trying to control immigration....

None of us are immigrating here.

It says so in my passport.

It is not about noticing a difference as you are comparing two completely different things.

They cannot be compared

Of course they can be compared.

Lots of people from outside Thailand come and stay here. They whinge because the Government make it harder for them to stay here.

Those same people whinge that X person comes to their country and lives there, why the Government let them in, why this, why that.

They don't differentiate between what visa each person carries.

Instead it seems your trying to say racial prejudice is alive & well in all countries to which none would be surprised

If not prejudice some folks complain about immigration in their countries because the immigrants tax the support systems as they get usage of all of it.

Welfare/food benefits/housing/jobs etc etc

Does that compare with Thailand?

But again you cannot compare the temporary pass to visit Thailand even if extended every year/90 days what ever with immigration in other countries. It is NON Immigration in Thailand period

Cannot make it any clearer sorry

My 84 year old cousin visits us every winter, stays for

3 months,in the past fill 1 form send it off to Thai Embassy

in London along with payment to get Visa, easy

Now this time has to fill in a 5 page application, online to get

a E-Visa,what a carry on, picture too light, picture too dark,

needs letter from me inviting her to stay at our house, has

to provide a copy of bank statements,so things are definitely

a lot more difficult now,for her at least.

regards Worgeordie

It is happening in many countries. More than a dozen previous visas for my wife to Australia (married and joint bank accounts and family all in OZ).  Just helped her complete the 17 page application form with 11 uploaded attachments such as marriage certificate, tabian ban, business registration and web site, drivers license, ID card, old passport details, previous country visa details (5 UK, PNG, Bahrain etc) plus a 10 hour return trip for another round of finger prints and photo.
