Over 1,300 factories were up for sale or out of business in first 10 months of 2019

There were 1,339 factories with 34,569 employees and a total investment of approximately Bt56.9 billion registered for sale or out of business in the first 10 months of 2019, according to the Industry Ministry.

Electricity cost to average Bt3.64 per unit for Jan-Apr 2020 period

The Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission of Thailand (ERC) will fix the fuel adjustment cost at Bt11.60 per unit, resulting in an average electricity cost of Bt3.64 per unit (VAT not included) for electricity bills during the January to April 2020 period.

Finance Ministry seeks to extend ‘Eat, Spend, Shop’ scheme to next year

The Finance Ministry will ask the Cabinet tomorrow to extend the phase 3 deadline of the “Eat, Spend, Shop” scheme to January 31 next year from the original December 31 deadline to stimulate both spending and the economy during the New Year period, Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana said on Monday (November 11).

Thailand asks farmers not to grow off-season rice on drought worries

BANGKOK (Reuters) - The Thai government has asked farmers in 22 provinces to not grow off-season rice, as the country braced for a dry spell amid low water levels in main reservoirs.
