The South Korean man stabbed in a lonely soi near Pattaya last month has spoken to the press for the first time.

Thailand's tourist police who are heading the hunt for the assailant have so far failed to bring the 38 year old called "Park" to justice.

On October 24th the victim - also named Park who is 28 - was stabbed 17 times and left for dead by his red plate BMW.

Yesterday the victim said that he was still under medical supervision following the savage attack. He told the media that he is offering a 100,000 baht reward for information leading to the capture of the man responsible.

Pol Lt-Col Piyapong Ensarn said that the tourist police throughout the country are involved in the hunt and that pictures of the man had been circulated. A warrant has been issued.

Thaivisa notes that more than 4 million Koreans have the surname Park, amounting to about one in twelve of the population.

Thaivisa also notes that at the time of the attack the police stated that more than one person was involved, a detail now missing from the Sanook story related to the hunt.

of course there was more than one,  only time you see one on one is when they are beating the <deleted> out of their girlfriend/wife, and a- holes standing by videoing it,

I think the attacker was Korean, if you are referring to Thai's never go one-on-one …

So, if Park did not Park his car, he wouldn't have been stabbed by Park.  🙂

reminds me of that Mel Gibson movie about his kid being kidnapped.  Mel turns things around and offers a bounty for much more than the kidnappers were asking for the ransom!  Pretty clever since that increases the chances that one of the gang might rat out the gang.  Not sure how often this has ever happened in real life.

In Thailand, Mel Gibson's movie is adjusted a little, when an assailant is not known.  They just grab a Burmese laborer and fabricate a case against them.  Then, collect the reward, and declare Thailand a safe tourist destination again.  🙂

I can believe that is not a rare thing.
