I've been absent minded while touring Thailand then Laos then back to Thailand and managed to overstay my 30 day visa exemption by 8 days. I'm being advised not to go to immigration to resolve the matter for fear of arrest but thought some local knowledge might advise otherwise. I'm currently in chiang mai and have a flight booked to Don Mueang tomorrow then out of suvarnabhumi on the 14th. I'm being advised to just lay low and pay a bigger overstay on exit from Thailand.
