Thais dont have a problem with people bringing their own food, especially in a food court. They do it all the time. I have often seen them do it even in a Thai restaurant/bar. It seems to be part of their culture.

I tend to agree with you.  I have seen videos of a group of Thais even sitting down on the floor in a semi private hospital room.  The expat guy was trying to sleep but the Thais were chattering on oblivious to him.

I am positive that several years ago there were italians hanging out in the old Tops down at the Pattaya Klang and second road intersection in the little food court they used to have there.  They were speaking Italiano anyway

Older Italians can often be seen in small groups on the streets in some North Queensland towns. No real harm done apart from the old pervs making young women uncomfortable as they do tend to look lecherous.

I imagine young Thai women get the same feeling from the mall dwellers.

Are you kidding! If the sun comes out in the northern UK you have everyone with their shirts off... and in Newcastle they refuse to wear them in February!

I understand the sun coming out is so infrequent there, the risk of offending anyone shirtless is minimal.

So these guys actually have a few mates who they can meet somewhere and socialise.

I guess the irony is the OP, complaining about them is probably sitting alone, in his cheap 28m bedsit, nursing a small can of Chang..

Maybe it is actually the OP that is the saddest part of this story.

Sounds like the model ThaiVisa poster,

who gets all worked up defending how he immediately looks away when he sees any foreigner walk by.
