Thai Airways cancels hiring of 200 flight attendants

Thai Airways has called off the hiring of 200 flight attendants and will refund the application fee to applicants within one or two days, said President Sumeth Damrongchaitham, adding that the state carrier will issue an statement on the cancellation.

PHUKET:-- Chalong Mayor Samran Jindapon today ordered the popular street Soi Palai closed after a crane truck snagged power lines and brought down nine power pylons, leaving residents in the area without electricity supply.

NACC deems govt officials guilty over power plant bribery

There are grounds to believe that four government officials accepted a Bt20-million bribe from the Japanese firm awarded the contract to build a power plant in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Worawit Sukboon, secretary-general of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), said on Wednesday (November 13).

Clerk who shot at court shooter charged with attempted murder

Chanthaburi courthouse clerk Thanakorn Therawarodom has been charged with attempted murder after he snatched a gun from police and allegedly fatally shot Pol Maj-General Thanin Chantharatip who on Tuesday allegedly went on a shooting spree in the court, killing two people and injuring two.

Charter court rules Pheu Thai’s Nawat disqualified as MP




Convicted Pheu Thai MP for Khon Kaen province Nawat Tohcharoensook lost his parliamentary status on October 16th, when he was suspended by the Constitutional Court from performing his duty as an MP, according to a ruling by a panel of Constitutional Court judges.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank will lower its economic growth forecasts for this year and next, a deputy governor said on Wednesday, and still has monetary policy space for action to support the economy despite cutting its key interest rate to a record low.
