Brexit Party's Farage dismisses calls to stand down in Labour seats

LONDON (Reuters) - Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage on Thursday dismissed demands to stand down candidates fighting the Labour Party, saying his main aim was to win seats in parliament to hold Prime Minister Boris Johnson to account over Brexit.

In the most significant move of the election to date, Farage on Monday agreed to stand down 317 candidates in Conservative seats, a step that could pave the way for a majority in parliament for Johnson’s Brexit deal.

But Farage has resisted intense pressure to stand down more. He has until 1600 GMT on Thursday to withdraw more candidates.

“The Conservatives want a Conservative majority in parliament, not a Brexit majority in parliament,” Farage said. “We now need to get people in parliament to make sure we hold the Conservatives to account.”

“There were very clearly seats in which we are the lead challenger and there are other seats in which they are the lead challenger to Labour and we could have done a deal on that basis, but the priority for the Conservative Party - they do not want the Brexit Party to get seats in parliament.”

When asked about criticism from his former ally, Arron Banks, Farage said Banks had given up on Brexit and had “Brexhaustion”.

“He has given it up. Arron Banks has never given a penny to the Brexit Party, let’s be clear about that, he’s not supported the Brexit Party,” Farage said, adding Banks had now come in behind the deal crafted by former Prime Minister Theresa May.

“He, I think, has just had enough of Brexit, it’s Brexhaustion and he was happy for some reason to go along with Mrs May’s deal and Boris’ deal,” Farage said.

Banks told Reuters on Tuesday that Farage should step away.

“Nigel reminds me of a gambler at a casino that’s been winning all night and it’s time to take the chips off the table and step away,” Banks said. “What we are offering the geezer, as you might say, is Brexit.”

Would have been fair and balanced of you to include his response

Pressed, he insisted he would turn down either a peerage or a knighthood.

I do hope this is the end of him. I know some of you will hound me for that but the man is simply a self serving liar, he is snake oil through and through,  though gifted with an incredible ability to handle interviewers and push his narrative, I concede.

I am shocked at how many times he has shot himself in the foot since the election was touted. But he is not alone, Swinson is as bad as him, Corbyn is trying to win an election based on old fashioned spin and silly improbable catch phrases. And as for Mop Head, a stupid habitual liar trying hard to follow what his puppeteers tell him should be but he just keeps reverting back to character. And Sturgeon and SNP make my ears bleed I swear.

It time for a mass vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party. God bless Screaming Lord Sutch and all who sail in him. Our saviors?

This has been superseded by the overnight revelation made by Farage, Doris Karloff, and a BP panelist on BBC QT (3 separate claims) that the tories (inc No 10) had contacted & coerced multiple BP candidates to stand down, offering peerages and other inducements as they go.

Richard Tice/The BP have contacted all candidates & will compile a dossier of supporting evidence shortly.

Candidates bought so that they do not participate in the election?

According to N Farage he was already aware the Conservatives operated in this manner

N Farage has previously stated that he was offered peerage to stand candidates down but still chose to support the Conservatives

At least there are a few laughs to be had in the grim humour as a once great nation falls into the dustbin of history. Have some sympathy for the casualties that fought in the Great Brexit War , for they shall grow old. Buddy can you spare a Euro for an ex-MEP , no Trump retirement pension tours for him. ????

He should have a word with Tommee about crowdfunding. Here's a tip Stephen, when you come across bad skirting boards...rip them out and replace, because it's not worth rubbing them down and knackering your knuckles on gripper rod.

That's the problem, people are not.

A lot of voters will vote Brexit party but could never vote Tory.

Surprised there are not more formal or informal remainer alliances that have been formed.

Meanwhile, the Labour nutters have come up with the British broadband company.

Nationalise parts of BT, possibly confiscate parts of the fibre infrastructure. Get low yielding gov bonds instead of BT shares and put £30 billion down the pan.

Plus its all free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No its not. The customer, tax payers, will pay.

Forget Brexit, the first priority is stop Stalin and Trotsky getting elected.

Boris was asked about it on the BBC news channel this morning and denied it.  We all know that is a lie.  Who would have thought the PM's behaviour is making Nigel look like a poor victim ????

No he lied to the whole lot it's just the first 300 got the message early. At least with 0 BXP MPs and a Johnson majority - the Liar-in-Chief has a chance to negotiate a decent , stab-in-the-back Surrender Treaty whilst Bill Cash gets his peerage and the ERG get jobs all round or even bettter told to pee-off. The disaffected working class Tories can then be ditched and ignored whilst the Eton elite get back to what they do best which is running the country for their own ends and their rich mates. It was ever thus.

I am loving the way that Farage still thinks he should be taken seriously and how the Tory Party are running scared enough to do exactly that!  It's got nothing to do with being a remainer or a leaver.  This election is proving to be exactly what people predicted.  Who can get away with the biggest lies wins.  Unfortunately Labour are having trouble keeping up.  I guess it is the price of sitting on the fence for too long.

Labour keeping up????, by my reckoning they're a country mile ahead, free broadband, only going to cost us 86 billion. Oh and free uni tuition fees are back by popular demand, they said they really mean it this time.

Sometimes it's very hard to tell if Boris is lying or not, with Labour they just havn't mastered the skill just yet.????

Still the Tories are the party for the working class now, long live the revolution.????

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

A man who can abandon an disown his own children will find abandoning the working class so easy when the times come. I can think of only one public figure who is worse but we won't go there. How did we come to this ?

But the Court of Appeal said: “The core information in this story, namely that the father had an adulterous affair with the mother, deceiving both his wife and the mother's partner and that the claimant, born about nine months later, was likely to be the father's child, was a public interest matter which the electorate was entitled to know when considering his fitness for high public office."

I find election campaigns in which the Prime Minister addresses scrubbed, smug Tory audiences, filmed by the BBC in close shot to conceal the sparsity of their numbers, deeply disturbing. I find the speeches in factories to employees even more chilling. The sullen compliance of employees, too cowed to show discontent before their bosses, should disturb any right thinking person.

It had come to his knowledge, he said, that a foolish and wicked rumour had been circulated at the time of Boxer's removal. Some of the animals had noticed that the van which took Boxer away was marked "Horse Slaughterer," and had actually jumped to the conclusion that Boxer was being sent to the knacker's. It was almost unbelievable, said Squealer, that any animal could be so stupid. Surely, he cried indignantly, whisking his tail and skipping from side to side, surely they knew their beloved Leader, Comrade Napoleon, better than that? But the explanation was really very simple. The van had previously been the property of the knacker, and had been bought by the veterinary surgeon, who had not yet painted the old name out. That was how the mistake had arisen.

Face the  facts.  The  "Media"  are  now the  international agents  of  subliminal influence paid for  by those who have both the  financial capacity  and the politically contrived objectives.

The end  game of is the complete  dissolution of even the  ideals  of  democratic  choice.

There are  only  two outcomes.

I am not  unhappy I will not live long enough to be victim to either but I am sad  my  children and grandchildren will be.

What  do I intend to  mean by that?

The eventuality is either a  complete  collapse of  global national governance under the  perpetuated  pretense of honest democratic representation which will  fail due to the fascist elitism that perpetuates it and  a devolution unto tribalism such as is  already happening  in many places as   in the  Middle East due to failed  interference by self imposed global  fascists.

Or an equivalent loss of individual national democratic identity by  virtue of an openly  identified  militarist  backed  fascist regime/s that will subjigate the masses by proclamation of totalitarian public interest.

Factor into that the other possibilities/probabilities of what would in current perspectives  be a  demonic and deliberate infliction  of a  global element that  reduces  the human population   in a dramatic way. What would  be the purpose?

It is  undeniable  that at  current predicted expectations of  both  energy and  food  supplies will  exceed capacity for  reason  of  both  population and pollution due to the  latter demand

effects.

As a a product of evolutionary "progress"  such an intervention as above  is not outside the natural realms.

If we as  humans are the evolutionary product of  nature and we  are  the  agents  of   AI that we apparently  in  naive desire assume will  enhance us but probably  fall  victim to are  we  so stupid  or are we  just  following a  natural path?Or are we failing  to  comprehend potential because  of  the  distractions of assumed intellect... Acquisition of material wealth/status.

History....as  we  are  allowed and  educated  to  comprehend  it.... demonstrates a  progressive technological advancement. Yet in the utilization  of  we harm and potentially  destroy  ourselves!

So  at this  point  I would  assume  that  as a point  of  moderation  some  would suggest I  am way  off  topic.

I   say  no!  What I  suggest  is   very  much   in point  of  fact as to  the  ongoing  manipulation  of  social  opinion.

In  light  of  my  initial  comment  think  about  what  forms   your  opinion. Is  it  fact or  presentation  of  arguement  of of  other  opinion  presented  as  fact?

Understand  a reality.

As  an individual  who  deliberately  tells a lie  or  makes a  false  representation for personal  gain in any  manner  can be  sued  or prosecuted .

As a  Political aspirant who is  registered as  such  who tells lies  or   makes  false  representations  for  personal  "political"  gain ( and  anything   that   may attribute   by  position) is provided  very  different  rights.

Think   long and  well  on  that with   consideration  of   "party" affiliation.

curve despite some  periods  of regression or stagnation.

For Labour to give us all free broadband they plan to re-nationalise BT.  But let's not get carried away.  Neither party will deliver what they promise, just like Brexit it is all hot air and bull.  But they know they don't have to.  As long as enough people buy all the hype they will win and then we are stuck with the muppets for another five years!

There is no quick fix to the countries woes because we have surrounded ourselves with incompetents and liars.  There is no moral compass from any direction and we are left spinning out of control in a downwards spiral.

I would say we need a revolution but who would be the revolutionaries? Forget Party politics, we need profound radical change but heaven knows how we can achieve that.
