It's maybe time to install here some fences also

Might be a good idea to simply learn the meaning of common sense.

Forget signs, fences and technology.

800 ft in the air; common sense says don't walk on slippery, wet surfaces!

The same person would probably not  walk on a wet floor for fear of slipping so why do it at height? No common sense.

RIP

Silly Nanny States have these things call railings keeps folks & more importantly kids back from cliffs etc

Railings and posted warnings didn’t do anything to stop the young Japanese student Ayano Tokumasu from climbing over it to get a photo shot at Niagara Falls, Canada.

Falling into the upper river and being swept to her death over the Falls in front of other horrified tourists was the tragic result. https://m.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/08/17/ayano-tokumasu-niagara-falls-japanese-student-last-moments-camera_n_929003.html

Total human error. And what ever happened to taking a photo of nature itself? Is the image somehow invalid if you are not in it? Is it possible that you were not really there, if you do not have photographic proof of your visit?

Selfies. What can one say? Narcissism ratcheted up to a level of extremism. I am indeed the center of the universe! The photo lacks validity without me in it!

He was apparently with a friend who could easily have taken the photo, while he made sure of his footing.

And that's why I never understood the concept of selfies.  Most people on holiday travel with friends, how hard is it to hand the phone over to your friend?

Fences? Are you aware what you are talking about, do you know the place?

No i don't know this place but i have already seen wood barriers put in place

by the rangers in some national parks near the waterfalls in Thailand.

Of course they are symbolics and you can still jump over it but it's better than nothing imo

Every too often we hear about people losing their lives over a stupid acts of taking a selfies, as if life is not perilous enough as it is, now humanity has to deal with death as a results of new technologies...

A slip and fall accident, regardless of the activity. ???? happens! If someone slips and falls to their death just walking...we don't blame walking.

Might want to make them a bit bigger and more numerous. Not one, but two tragic deaths in the same spot, for the same reason.

Some times, you just have to take responsibility for your own actions, no need for more signs. Just ONE or 2 that are obvious. ....  Like why <deleted> up the View at the Falls because some people do not want to read the signs ! That are already there !!! .... ALL water falls are dangerous and well, people have fallen in to the Grand Canyon etc. in other places all around the world, .... taking selfies haven't they !!!  ... And One Poor old man accidentally tossed his 3 year old toddler Grand Child VERY Tragically ! ... out of the 7th floor window on a Cruse Line !!! just recently !!!  .... People should be careful and Respect ALL Large Drops !!!

....   Sure the Tropics are Hot, so the mist of the Moisture at the top of a water fall, seems enticing ... but well it is slippery also ... just a couple of signs would do, AND Noting the Slippery point !!! lets say to actually make them Unique and Intelligent ....  ... And the the people should take responsibility for their own actions. ... ???

but his friend who was there just said on a Facebook group that he didn't take selfie.

Do you have a link you can share?  So we can get to the bottom of this.

..wonder if this chap got a selfie as he was falling, in any case at least he should have the last one he did take posted to his FB acct.; he gave his life for it so at least why not, it should be posted in memoriam for all those out there wanting that once-in-a-lifetime shot..

Surprised there were only 2 deaths caused by selfie while driving.

Lot more no doubt, numerous live streamed.
