US-Thai defence treaty looks to cement alliance in 21st century

Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper with the new defence alliance treaty on Sunday (November 17) in Bangkok.

 

Thailand and the United States have signed a defence treaty to enable stability, prosperity and sustainability in the Indo-Pacific region “in support of an inclusive and rules-based international order”.

Future Forward mounts offensive ‘Against the Tide’

Govt to sell Bt5 billion bonds to public as ‘New Year’s gift’

Royal rainmakers halt Phuket cloud-seeding operations

PHUKET: The royal rainmaking division for Southern Thailand has ceased its operations to seed clouds over Phuket to fill the island’s main reservoirs due to the annual northeast monsoon settling in and for its aircraft to undergo maintenance.

PHUKET: Of all the news reported this past week, least expected was the arrest of four people for human trafficking and child exploitation for operating a gang of child hawkers – selling of all things coconut water – at night venues.

A whale shark, which was found dead in the sea near Libong Island of Thailand’s southern coastal province of Trang, has been found to have died from cardiac arrest after its tail became entangled in a rope.
