The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am accuses a Qantas flight attendant of being racist

Musician will.i.am says a Qantas flight attendant was "racist" towards him during a flight from Brisbane to Sydney.

The Black Eyed Peas band's frontman tweeted that he was singled out when he missed a plane announcement to put his laptop away.

Qantas issued a statement denying the allegation.

"There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been exacerbated by will.i.am wearing noise cancelling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from crew," a spokesman said.

These puffed up celebs with their huge egos and false sense of entitlement think they are God's gift to the world, so they expect your average Joe to kowtow to them at every turn. This flight attendant was probably just doing her job as usual, and the normal person would think nothing of her slight chastisement, if that's what it really was. Most people with a humble attitude would have simply apologized and let her go about her business. Will.i.am would fit in well with the crybaby hiso males in Thailand with their fragile egos. He's obviously learned the concept of "loss of face" from some poor soul!

The unforgivable part of this is that he tweeted the FA’s name to his so called followers. His reasoning was that “he had a duty “ to expose her as racist, possibly the most dangerous thing he could have done. If you have ever bothered to listen to rap music every second word is either F*** , or mother***** or N*****, these fans are not the people you wish to be exposed to especially on so called social media.

I really hope she sues him.

Latest news from Australia is that Qantas have stated that they will support their Flight Attendant if she takes legal action, I think they are doing the right thing, go Girl , hit him where it hurts most.

Would it have been racism if it was Ed Sheeran who got pulled up for not switching his laptop off or just Ginger bigotry?

Good point. I never did much research on it if true or not, but someone stated that only Caucasians can be blamed for racism.

I find the statement quite questionable, living in Thailand, I was pretty sure Thais are the most racist people I encountered. Not necessarily against Farangs, but the way they look down at the neighboring countries.

That's why I travel mostly alone there.

once as a police office i stopped a car speeding with blacked out windows and the driver said to me '' you only stopped me because i'm black'' my response was '' i stopped you because you were the only one driving at 110mph''

some people see racism in everything

I get non verbal abuse all the time just for being old. Just this morning some young woman supermarket checkout girl gave me the look for being old.

Should I go on social media and make a fuss about it?

OK, Boomer.

While I don't agree with putting the cabin crew's name and photo on Twitter, I have also been on the receiving end of some highly aggressive cabin crew - I find that British Airways and Quantas are the most aggressive.

I once had the police called on me by a Ryanair cabin crew member for something I certainly did not do. The issue occurred because the flight was so badly managed (the flight had been delayed by 8 hours). Thankfully, as soon as the older Irish airport policeman has assessed the situation, he escorted me away from the plane and told me I was free to go. THat was a relief because one can be banned from flying so easily.
