webfact
Pattaya: Snatch theft occurs again - could it be the same person? Picture: Ruk Siam News Another Russian tourist was robbed last night by a snatch and grab thief on a motorcycle. The theft follows the grabbing of another Russian tourist's gold necklaces worth 55,000 baht on Sunday. This time it was an iPhone - but it was also a lone male with a helmet on a motorcycle. The victim Irina, 30, was walking back to her hotel along Na Klua Soi 12 when the man stopped beside her, grabbed her phone worth 25,000 baht and sped off into the night. Bang Lamung police responded but as in Sunday's case radioing ahead and studying CCTV came up with nothing. Ruk Siam News were unable to confirm that the two cases were connected. The media said that snatch and grab theft was getting worse in Pattaya with police unable to catch the person or persons responsible. sunnyboy2018
About 4 years ago when living in Naklua walking down soi 16/18 to wongamat i was warned about this. I always walked facing the oncoming traffic and generally stayed aware sometimes with a rock in both hands. This crime which used to be very common in Italy is now very common in the UK especially London....Especially during the day... many people out late in the suburbs...too much violent street crime. The photo shows Pattaya's finest posing in bright sunshine. Thai police don't work nights so radioing ahead wouldn't work.

Redline
If they are Thai, food hey give the police a little gift, if they are foreign, they go to jail. The gifters just keep circulating through-thus he system always fails to protect

IAMHERE
Perhaps a symptom that the times are getting worse for the Farang in Thailand; certainly more worrisome.
