Why you want to come live in Thailand?

Recommended Posts

It was for employment and adventure in my case. I figured a break from shoveling snow in the winter wouldn't be a bad perk either for a while. 🙂

I had many good years there, felt proud of the contributions I made to the country through my employment and volunteer work and have fond memories of Thailand, but I have no desire to live there again. Like many others, I will be moving to one of Thailand's neighbors instead but possibly dropping in occasionally to catch up with friends.

Dear Yinn. I've just written my (true) story why I'm here.

BTW, I can make good Somtham, we even had a Somtham competition in Ubon R. with Transam ( a nice bloke) with his wife and my wife. But they won, I guess they bribed them!

I've been in Ranong a couple of times, but that was many moons ago. People usually go there for a visa run to Myanmar.

There'll be the day when we meet each other and we can have a long chat about Farang and Thai, okay?

In the end, we are not different, some are good and some are bad.

Same goes for your folks. There are good and bad people in every nation.

I've got to go to get your Somtham ready........Cheers. Chock Dee...:wai:

I not know you live in Phangnga before!

And go to Ranong!!!!!!!!

Maybe you will be POTY. (Not important but funny if win)

good luck.

I traveled to India after graduation from university and spent six months there and another month in Sri Lanka.

I couldn't understand why people who had almost nothing were smiling all day long, friendly and happy with their lives. Some people in my country had "the problem" not to know what else they could buy because they already had all they wanted?!?

I've been in many European countries, in North Africa, in South America, but SEA, in general, gave me the best feeling to settle down.

I'll never forget my first holiday in Thailand 23 years ago, and I came to LOS whenever I could take time off.

After my mom passed away in my arms, I sold the house and came to Thailand.

I've had some girlfriends in the beginning, but couldn't communicate in Thai.

I then met my wife, who's working at a hotel in Khao Lak when I wasn't looking for love/sex. I was so sad after my mom passed away and tried to get over it.

She couldn't speak English, my Thai was very limited, but something happened, also called love, and we married after living one year together.

Fortunately, did we leave Phang Nga, one month later the Tsunami hit Baan Naam Khem so hard that many of our friends got killed.

I'd planned to buy a house there and perhaps the move to Isaan had saved our lives.

So we settled down where she grew up in Isaan. We traveled a lot through Thailand but finally decided to stay in the lower northeast.

Then 15 years ago, I took on a job and started teaching English. I love my job, the kids like me, and I'm happy with my life, my job and life in general here.

My parents in law don't see me as an Alien because I can talk to them in their slang and we love each other.

People in the village respect me because I worked hard on the rice fields when I lived in the village.

Should put above on POTY. Positive REAL story.

Because Thai TV soap operas aren't available any where else.

Thai soap operas are watched and popular in all over Asia, in some countries in S. America, Europe and in Africa... basic in all around the world.

Look at the comments sections below the YouTube clip.

Yinn,

Not sure so far if I will vote for you.

I remember your posts in the "Farang" thread, claiming that what you were thinking was representative of the majority of the Thai people.

I challenged you about this by mentioning your were very young but already arrogant.

Not so long ago, on the question I asked how much you thought Thai people were thinking like yourself, you answered by a figure of 0,00.....

So don't know how honest you really are.

Or/and if maybe if you were joking, when do we know if you are joking or not, when you give us your opinions or answer a post.

Ok, thankyou that you remember my post.

i understand your point.

You are correct.

Maybe some things most Thai would agree. Some things most not agree (political)

Nobody in the world agree with Yinn 100%. Some maybe 90%, some maybe 5%.

No problem not vote for Yinn. Up to you think.

Happy New Year same.
