a nice decent girl in a town full of hoes

So he thinks, but he's plucked her from upcountry and doesn't live in Thailand. By his admission she's hot. So what's a hot young woman doing sitting alone in the middle of Issarn doing? We all know how this story goes.

Imagine she works in a shop for 8k a month. Returns home to take care of her parents and elderly granny. Goes to Temple every full moon. Has no idea about Thai dating sites and has never been to Pattaya.

The fact she speaks English is a total giveaway. Presumably writes it as well. Seriously doubt this guy met her upcountry. I'll lay odds it was online *dating* ;-D

can you believe my luck to find such a perfect woman? she different than the rest. Or she has me fooled? but what difference does it make if the future plans and commitments we make work out?  I can assure you I enter these gates with my eyes wide open. Maybe Asians have magic that makes a man feel like the master when being PWhipped?   Yes she can read, write, and speak english ok.   It will need improvement in the USA if I do the K1 visa route.  She has  talked to foreigners  for her 17 years on the same job, all day, 6 days a week. I have talked to her and or video chatted with her morning and night for the last 6 months. and kept very close tabs for 22 months.  I do think she has never been to Pattaya. She is smart but her needs for survival has kept her thoughts simple.  I understand this.  I believed her that wearing a bikini in Hau Hin with me was her first time outside of at a resort pool in Phucket on one of her only travels with GF's from work.  She is not the first very conservative Thai woman I have found.  I think my dating site sorting methods were very good.   This special one I just met in person. She out out with friends taking photos by the big white bear Xmas Display 2018-2019 at Emporium, When  I saw her I just knew I had to talk to her.   I slowly began to shine in her eyes?  its a long story but romantic and a good foundation. But time will tell.  All of her coworkers are of this same very conservative type.    I  was married for over 25 years and I dont complain about that time like most of you do.   I plan to do that again if its in my cards.  I don't mind the doubters. I have thought all of your thoughts and some.

But I will remind you that this thread was simply about a fun NYE night in BKK.  Yes I do have long term plans with her. and we will only know how that turns out in 15-20 years.

So far we  have nice high condo room for 4 nights overlooking the river. She and I, have never spent much time Near the river.  But she did do a dinner river cruse once with co worker.  If we do a rooftop bar is will be another night in my 24 night stay.  Our 2nd date was at the Marriott skybar on a nice clear but chilly night. They passed out blankets for all the women and hugging was a given and natural.  I was in a t shirt and while it was chilly it was so refreshing and if Thailand weather was like this more it may have a chance I retire there.  NOT!!  To many signs for me that the greatness of Thailand is past.  Diving showed me how over fished and destroyed the reefs are,  Trash on all remote beaches and areas. Overcrowding in all nature areas and the feeling that tourists are there only for the money.  Maybe things will improve in 15 years.  I could easily be happy in modest country accommodations.

Who wants to visit an overpriced skybar full of HiSo poser Thais? .... Not me.

A Pattaya Soi 6 beer bar, sat between an Ex SAS serviceman and a Bitcoin millionaire while listening to Nong, Nan, Porn and Dang crowing and cackling away pidgin English while picking their noses must be far more fun, eh ????

at least you have an open view there, most other places your packed in like sardines at an indoor venue.

lumpini or benjakiti park would also work, if its open that night.

one reason i left bangkok is i hate always being packed in with a bunch of other people watching traffic, i started liking skybars just because they are outside and you could see something other then traffic noise and hawkers.

The Banyan, fine food, cocktails and a high story viewing area for the fireworks. Red dawn? Bar on floor 55..cantilevered platform fine food and cocktails..just behind the sea world food court on siam square

I'm thinking, a lot of these highrise rooftop places that BKK is famous for are going to have special rates/packages for NYE that are likely to make them much much more expensive than the already expensive prices they have every day. And you're getting suckered by the folks who feel they have to go someplace ritzy on NYE in order to show a woman a good time.

Personally, I'd avoid those kinds of places, and look for a similarly nice places with ambience and atmosphere that isn't a sucker's bet. Maybe some places at the River City Complex (Viva & Aviv) or at Asiatique (like Wine I Love You) along the Chaophrya River, which can be great outdoors venues for catching BKK fireworks. Or some of the Thai seafood restaurants that are riverside with outdoor dining in those areas -- especially if she's someone who doesn't drink alcohol, as the OP mentioned. But surely she'd enjoy seafood.

sky bars tickets with tables are 20,000 baht PP.  food and drink included.  i hope so.. we will be doing Asiatica and walking along the river... should not need a taxi... we will be able to walk up to river park 1 km if needed.... I have met mom... mom is looking forward to seeing me again later in the trip.  Last time I enjoyed self learning how to repair 20 year old bamboo chairs her lat father made..  Took me 10 hours and 2 days but It gave me purpose... good thing i didn't get busted for no work permit.  THsi is another reason to not live in Thailand.  Old village women with the red lips (is this a Drug?)  were coming by to give me pointers, I used to old of bamboo at first.  I think I impressed them. I was first foreigner to this village they say. . I did try the whisky.. at Thailand prices I would be a homebrewer too... another reason i would get kicked out of Thailand . I can brew 50 gals of beer here and no one ever checks that limit or cares...  But distilling is still illegal.    She loves to eat like all Thai or Asian women for that matter..  I dont know how she does it.  I'm A good eater of Thai food which seems to be a good thing. not much western food in the village..  But I do want to introduce low and slow cooked chicken and pig to them someday..

I'm sure she is!!!  The whole extended family is probably all atwitter with planning on how they're going to spend their future daughter-induced dowry (either official or un-official)....

OP so noob.

That woman's playing you son. Can tell that just by your posts.

Planning to marry the old girl. Take her to States on a K1. Well, look at you.

She's gonna blindside you.

Quite Harsh man.  I imagine with your negative energy you really attract some dozies.   being a player is ok but being played not so much?   Time is the only thing that will tell. 42 is old? then your probably well past the  useful date and I agree.  IT's called a waster of O2. What do you do? Spread herpes every week?  Have you ever been able to stay with one woman for more than 6 months?

all Asians are brown to me.... Brown as a noun so racist!  Brown relates to simple mind?

Life isn't a disney ride.  all things may happen... This is real.  I just try my best.  I will try to not extend past my limit to rise and shine again if she finds greener pastures.  I just try to be happy each day which is hard with such negative posters on TV.  If TV wasn't helpful about 10% of the time I would just cancel my Account here.

  • 1 month later...

Well we had a couple airbnb cancellations but ended up within walking distance of icomsiam.  Now I understand why many wont be doing a crowd like that again.    Firework show was intense, repetitive  and brief by USA standards.   A little over 5 min compared to 15-45  mins.  Almost needed hearing  protection.    Crowd control here and ingress egress are not ideas Thais comprehend it appears.  Could have easily been a dangerous stampede upon or human crushing at exit time.  A severe bottle neck on the south corner of the building.
