FTA with EU will raise Thai GDP by 1.63%: study

A free trade agreement between Thailand and European Union (EU), if achieved, could boost the country's gross domestic product (GDP) by 1.63 per cent, according to a joint study by the Department of Trade Negotiations and Institute of Future Studies for Development.

Excise Department eyes jet fuel tax discount to help domestic airlines

BANGKOK (NNT) - Many low cost domestic carriers have reported losses this year, one of the factors being the increase in jet fuel tax of 0.2 baht to 4.73 baht per liter in 2017. The losses have led to some airlines cancelling certain domestic routes. The Excise Department has held talks with airline representatives and fuel suppliers on the feasibility of reducing the jet fuel tax as a remedial measure.

Thailand, Germany to resume economic committee talks

The Thailand-Germany economic committee meeting will be revived after it was called off in 2003 over internal issues, said Deputy Commerce Minister Weerasak Wangsuphakijkosol today (November 21) after a meeting with Thomas Bareiß, Germany’s Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy.

Permits for export of stocks of three banned chemicals to be issued
