Ekkarat, 57, initially denied taking the donations' box that contained 3,000 baht. Then he was shown CCTV and changed his story. He said that he had built up debts of 100,000 gambling on football online. He was led to do some vows to the deities promising never to steal again. The police let him go as no charges were made.
