kevinmartyn
Do not be concerned too much about Thailand. The Thai goverment is digging such a deep "hole" for Thai nationals it is very quickly heading into deep economic depression one from which it may never truly Recover from! Once the Thai people wake up to this o can for-see riots on the streets far greater than the current situation in Hong Kong!????

angloirishaussie
Ive met a fair few Taiwanese people and they have been friendly and wealthy and generous. I would have them as tourists anytime but its all about China i think. I miss King Bhumibol he was a good man who loved his people and kept the people together I remember though when Thaskin was in charge saw an assassination right in front of me. It was supposed to be a war on drugs but according to Thai mate he was getting rid of the opposition
Netease
Thailand had to do something, Airports are over crowed so reduce the influx of poor tourists by checking there financials and only let in the rich ones like they are doing to the Expats, unless you have a lot of money to give Thailand don't come ( just being sarcastic) ???? However, an entitlement to social security is viewed as a right based on need rather than as something to be “bought” by paying a financial contribution. SuperTed
I love Taiwan. And agree this change was likely prompted by PRC. However, TH could also say this is retaliation for the MISERABLE way Taiwanese companies and families have treated immigrant TH factory workers and domestics in the past. Taiwan should make some apologies before seeking a change.

P100
This is when you let a shi*hole country get away with wrongdoing. Taiwan's economy is much more developed and living standards are way higher. Thais go to Taivan with no visa. They even go for working illegally in construction and elsewhere. Just demand the same requirements from Thai visitors and start a campaign against Thailand. It will work...
ThomasThBKK
https://www.nationthailand.com/national/30353661 meawhile in Taiwain Quote Visitors involved in sex trade On Saturday, the online newspaper Taiwan News reported that Taiwan was planning to slash visa-free entry for Thai, Philippine and Brunei visitors to twice a year from the existing six entries, after finding many Southeast Asian visitors were involved in the sex trade during their multiple trips to Taiwan. This visa-free policy has helped boost Taiwan’s tourism industry, bringing 410,000 visitors from Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines over the past two years. The number of tourists from Thailand and the Philippines grew by 95 per cent and 48.5 per cent, respectively, during that period. But many visitors from the three countries were also found to have engaged in prostitution during their stay in Taiwan. In April, a Thai national was arrested for engaging in prostitution during her many trips on a tourism visa to Taiwan, the Taiwan News reported, quoting local police. I let her pay for lunch and was on my way. my experience; met a thai gal in a similar way that told me she'd been to macau 9 or 10 times but rest assured i concluded she is simply a "wealthy gambler"

yellowboat
Just shows this government cannot effectively manage sock drawer, let alone a country. They are constantly inserting their foot in their mouth. Why hurt people who want to pay and cause little in the way of trouble? What a bunch of buffoons. I expect there will be a Taiwanese rebuttal.
