Got to agree with you there mate, poor <deleted> getting sicked on by all those gutless Thai's who mostly always take the law into their own hands because they can't fight one on one and know the only thing that will happen is that the cops will sort it like school boys, i.e. wai and 500 baht fine, sickening, if it was in a modernised country we all know what would happen.

 

I steer clear of arguing with Thai's, as I recall once a few years back that I was served a bill which was 3 times the amount that it should have been, and I said to the owner, that there was a mistake, I only had 3 beers, he became agro and staff circling me, when I said, wait a minute, need wife to bring me money, called the wife, fortunately she was close by and answered, told her the prob, she was there within 5 minutes with 3 off duty friends, one who said something in Thai to the bar owner, my wife put 500 baht on the counter and gave them a rip serving in Thai and we all left.

 

Now if I didn't have the wife come with her off duty friends I reckon I would have been set upon as I have see first hand others cop it from yes, the usual 4,5,6 Thai's who can't fight one on one, oh and why 500 baht I said to the wife, she said, you only drink 3 small beers, 120 baht each, so I left them a tip, and thanks for reminding me and pay me my 500 baht....lol

 

The off duty cops were at her sisters party at a restaurant around the corner, and I had slipped out to see some eye candy with the wife telling me to be careful and if any trouble to call her, as I did, love that girl. 

 

True story.

Yeah, it 's pretty hilarious. Another mouthpiece being too clever bit off more than he can chew.

 

Lesson learned for only 500bht. Keep it shut in future and be nice.

I might agree with you if we saw a pic of the dude lying in hospital with his skull bandaged and 2 black eyes, but gee whiz. "However, they only suffered minor injuries."

you make no sense, so if you even just politely complain expect to be attacked by a mob, but then you say if you can't show 'manor' (I think you mean manners) then expect to get attacked by a mob. Either way, just accept that you will be attacked by mobs, right? ????

No reason for tourists NOT to come. It was all a misunderstanding. 

 

There is no way in heck I am going to play tour guide with my brother's family, 3 sons (under ten) on this island paradise. That was because of the Taxis, scams, jetski scams & no lifeguards. But wait!, I did not factor in the beatdowns. That might be a DEALMAKER. :whistling:

Firstly good to finally see someone with a pair of balls who stands up and does ok against a pack of dogs, secondly police need their head examined. 12 against one and they fine him 500 baht? while other 12 fined 500 in total or 500 each?

No mention of police checking papers of Burmese waiters. They should be fined and deported, particularly if they are illegals but the BiB must be in the take from those that are openly employing lots of foreigners. Last time I looked they were not allowed to work in any kind of retail business serving in shops or restaurants. Only WPs for managers, chefs allowed.

 

i find these tourist businesses with staff that can only speak broken Thai and sometimes only broken English too rather depressing. Mrs Dog, who is Thai, also hates having to struggle to understand Filipino accented English  when checking into hotels in Phuket.

The police "fined" all concerned 500 Baht each.  Where did the Police get the power to be prosecution, judge & jury?

I would love to see an audit trail of these "fines".  I suspect that the trail will begin and end in the lint in the RTP pockets!

Each police station is self sustaining, Whatever they make is how they pay their bills,not like the West where all fines go to government coffers, but government allocates budget for police stations.

 

Some stations, Police chief pays for renovations and upgrades out of his own pocket, followed by large number of raids to recoup the money ????
