Hard to do when you are confined to living in the shadow of Trump's greatness.

That he is great is not disputed, what is disputed is what he is great at. Personally I dont know of a greater swindler to occupy the white house . He swindled his subcontractors out of their pay by declaring several bankruptcies, He swindled the students of trump university out of their tuition and the courts made him pay it back, and he swindled you out of your vote,

Nor is it disputed that he gets a lot of attention.  Madoff got a lot of attention also.

I like what Trump's done with the economy. Low unemployment, low interest rates and roaring stock market. Doesn't get better than this. And he's the balls to take on China which was robbing the US blind, a fact that even liberal economist like Krugman were complaining about till they found religion post-2016.

Sure the man's a crass jerk. But so was Churchill and Gandhi was a racist and mildly pedo. Great men have their faults.

Bob Dylan and John Wayne also got a lot of attention... ...

Did read on the news that Trud. <deleted> Trump off sufficiently so that Trump decided to pack down his toothbrush

and go home early from the Nato happening, good/bad/never mind? don't know

That trump guy surprises me quite a lot, he has no political experience, he has taken on a mega political job,

he is running his own NewYork business style, doesn't care about this and not about that,

sometimes behaves like an elephant in a china store

I am no fan - far from it

but that Trump chap actually seems to get by with the way he is handling things - not bad for an political amateur,

he get certain things done, both state side and outside

This is all shear nonsense. The media will do anything to create a story out of thin air so long as it's against President Trump. It's impossible to know what Trudeau was implying when he says "jaws dropped". What the heck does that mean anyway? How does he know the jaw drops were anything related to words coming from President Trump. Maybe somebody had cut a fart and Trump's team was reacting to that. I wouldn't believe a word coming from the mouth of the liberal pansy Trudeau!

The funniest thing I have read all day. No one has to make a story up. Just listen to trump.

exactly my point. Different people get attention for different reasons. It is my opinion that trump gets attention for all the wrong reasons.  I am sure you will disagree.

As far as the "Greatness" assertion someone else made and I responded in conjunction to the attention reply. Only History will judge, Two year history has not being very great yet.

The word you are looking for is sheer, and if there was a fart, as you so plausibly suggest, you can be sure it was a trumpet.

Poor old no mates Donald. Now the boys are laughing at him together, even his mate Boris.

Putin must be rubbing his hands in glee, a friendless idiot in the White House, how well he played his hand.

Now if Boris wins big next week and foolishly takes the UK out of the EU with no deal in a year, his work will be complete. A divided EU, a weak UK, and an isolated USA, yes!

Donald for re-election in 2020, vodkas all round!

The economy is not like a light switch.  It takes years for policies to have their effect.

Good job, Obama!

Let's see how Trump leaves the country for the next president.

trump should not be allowed to say anything unless he is reading it from something his team wrote for him or is at a trump rally where he is among other double digit IQ people.

he is so bad for America ?

we all know he is no diplomat and says some things that he maybe shouldn't

is he good for America ? - probably yes

is he right about Macron - yes

why should only the American people fund world protection

Macron is doing this for only one reason and he has been very open about it

he wants the EU to go from just trade to being a military empire with him an the Germans at the helm

what was wrong with trading ?

The OP could be read as meaning Trump's team were so amazed at what a great press conference he had that they were surprised.

Of course everyone will take it as a negative, given the TDS out there.

The real question is, why would you want to be on Trumps team? Like working for a child. And the next question is, why would they be surprised at anything he does or says? Hogging the spotlight? He loves to do that. He really believes he has something to say. I listen to his press conferences sometimes and what shocks me is how little content there is. The man can take 30 minutes saying nothing at all. It is all about the sound of that atrocious voice.

I can only imagine what it is like for our "allies" to have to deal with him.

See you Don Donald. Enjoy your remaining year.

I just spend time in Greece and in Italy. everyone I talked to said the same thing concerning trump W T F ? My Ex-wife with whom I am still good friends with just came back from vacationing in Spain three days ago, we were watching her dog while she was gone (she does the same for as) and she came to pick her up,

She said the same thing. I can only imagine what they say when we are not there and don't need to be polite.

The damage trump has done to the US reputation will take years to repair, if ever.

When I returned to NZ I was surprised at the negative opinions of many at Trump. However, when I saw the blatant Trump hatred expressed by the NZ media that clearly has collective TDS I understood that it was because of media propaganda.

Even Al Jazeera is blatantly anti Trump, twisting everything about him into the most negative light as possible. If that and the NZ media is the only "news" people get about Trump it's not surprising they think he's a bad man. I expect it's the same in Europe.

No need to twist or propagate, they're just reporting facts.

2 conservative justices in SCOTUS and probably one or two more to go before 2024 are not spin.

Probably Trump's greatest accomplishment.

When all the furore is forgotten, SCOTUS will still be in session.

I don't think it is a positive, but yes, he did do that. Congratulations, you managed to find one fact in the spin list.

I watched a lot of Trump on Fox during my time in Thailand. Starting out only wanting him to defeat her, but knowing nothing about him I had an open mind, and I'm far from a fan of rich people, being a socialist.

What I actually saw was quite different from what is said about him on media like BBC or on TVF.

Which is why I take a non negative stance on him.

Indeed, his appointments to SCOTUS will be affecting the US for decades to come. Well done on that, Mr Trump.

If you like liers, cheaters etc you're at the right address with him.

And if you consider appointing 2 people who are partisan and clearly unqualified to do their job due to others retreating an accomplishment we have a different definition of that word.

And your pretence to be a socialist is contradicted by your statement he has done well with the scotus appointments.

The reason they laughing at him is because they aren’t used to gibberish from a potus and they see his impeachment looming it’s a real porta potty of an administration they as I and most people are nervous seeing an unsuitable mentally ill man in such a position of power

I'm not going to get in a bitch fight over Trump, but you know nothing about being a socialist, apparently.

If you reply you'll be talking to yourself and your friends.

Agree, no point in this discussion since you don't have any arguments.

The cowardly Reality TV Con Man showed he had no backbone when he slinked off from the NATO conference early without holding a planned press conference. Donald is so afraid of losing face that he runs away from other World leaders that know what a weak minded fool he really is. Donald knows he can't outsmart them and now he can't even out bully them. Donald deludes himself (and his mindless followers) into believing he is a strongman when he is just a pathetic weak little man.

Oh c’mon. That scrum of NATO leaders were doing just what it looks it they were doing: ridiculing Trump. Why wouldn’t they? -- He’s such an easy target. Even Boris Johnson, presumed fellow traveler, knows to keep his distance from Trump, given that Trump is reviled by 90 percent of Johnson’s constituents.

The knee-jerk response that “No, they couldn’t have been laughing at our Great President,” is like all those apologists saying that, no, Trump wasn’t actually mimicking a disabled reporter, he was gesticulating normally, given that mimicking a disabled person is beyond the pale even for most Republicans, almost as bad as getting laughed at by the Canadian prime minister. Sure, Trump offers sound advice on forest management; he wins at golf without cheating; he pleases women (“I guarantee you there’s no problem!”); he slays dragons with his bare hands; and other lies. Trump is in constant need of such forced, unearned adulation, and his fan base is more than willing to give it to him.
