Out of control US man: Deportation would be a relief, he says

This guy does not sound smart enough to be doing research for anyone, anywhere. If he does not like Thailand he should either leave or dig a hole, crawl in, and pull the dirt in on top of him. He may get some time to reconsider his behavior after an extended stay in a Thai prison.

A sad case of mental health issues going unchecked I think. While his behaviour is deplorable, I feel more sympathy than anger for his situation. He should be deported back to the USA for extensive phsycological treatment. Being in a foreign environment is probably causing confusion and anger.

The guy is obviously mentally ill yet people on here want to crucify him. I hope he is put on a flight back home and even more he gets the treatment he needs. As for the snide remarks about America and hinting about mass shooting and the access to guns I have to laugh and remind you where you are living. He would not get access to legal firearms in America also look at the states where there are mass shootings and you may be shocked at the very strict gun laws they have. We have very strict gun laws in the UK but look at our knife crime/murder figures also look at our recent terrorist attacks using knifes and vehicles. I wish we could arm ourselves the same as terrorists/criminals can.

Imagine if this guy was not supposedly drinking. Thailand is a place where you need to drink, or take drugs to have a "normal" life. I was  in BKK for two weeks and soon or later I would end up dead or in prison. And I don't drink, do drugs or go to bars. Maybe not the right place to be. It did not take long to realize my mistake.

And you are trying to say that he didn´t feel the same before he got arrested? Stupid try of an excuse. The man is brain dead.

Seeing as you are such a stickler for detail (i.e HCM/Saigon) if he was brain dead, he would be completely dormant.

No shortage of white trash in America also. Obviously a troubled individual with serious mental problems that needs to be medicated.

Can you imagine someone like that having access to semiautomatic assault rifles? I don't have to imagine it in the US.

the shade of his skin makes him more brownish trash than white if that matters any....

Does that mean he is admitting to living in Thailand without means for it? Otherwise he would be able to just buy a ticket, leave and never come back, or just maybe he´s too stupid for that.

It means he's been arrested and as is custom he's had his passport confiscated.

If he's due to appear in court on Dec. 26th he may not have access to his passport.

They arrest people on a promise to appear here? That seems like a flawed system no?

Take his passport away and expect him to show up to to court?

In the US, we have a lot of mentally ill people with no care, and nowhere to go. The police and prisons are the first, last and only line of defense. The real shame is that this guy made it all the way to Thailand. But this is how it is. Mentally ill people have good days and bad days. Sometimes they take their meds and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they can hold down a job and sometimes they can't.

BTW, I know I am diagnosing from the outside here but its easy to do. Delusions of grandeur are typical of schizophrenia.

When a person is deported from the Kingdom who pays the air line ticket? If a person says they have no money to pay or no credit card to use who pays? The Immigration Dept.?

Totally no.

If deported from Thailand, and most other countries, the deporting country pays nothing and in many cases the deportee might well be held in an immigration detention centre, which is not free and the deportee must pay a daily lodging fee and the daily fee compounds until the deportee is gone.

Cost of air fares is up to the deportee, and would never be paid by any branch of the Thai (or any other deporting) government. It's up to the deportee or friends or family.

in most case the government of the country the deportee is a citizen of will also not pay or loan funds. But if friends or family deposit funds that country will make the same funds available from their embassy where the deportee is waiting to leave, but with some controls.

Plus in most cases the deporting authority will have rules and regulations about where / how the departing ticket can be purchased, and possibly rules about whether the ticket must be a direct flight to the arriving country, if that's possible.

Plus in many cases the deportee must pay a number of other fees, e.g. a fee for the immigration police to escort the deportee from the detention center (jail) to the airport and ensure the deportee is on the flight when it takes off. And more...

Off course it is...its that deep Feudian thing, hating your Daddy and all that. Whose your Daddy then? Plus, in a world of dogs, the little ones are always hating on the Big Dog.????????????

But hate is sad, dont you think? As a proud Yank, I dont have hate for the folks who arent. Pity sometimes, but never hate.

Hey buddy, I'm a yank myself and so proud of it..... Thanks for sticking up for us Yanks....

This whole thread contains several posts that are negative to 'Yanks' (and Americans in general) just because This lunatic in THIS post comes from America....

This post is about a 'Yank' and now some of these posters want to use him to 'label' all of us as being similar to this OP guy.... actually I take it as a negative factor in judging a value for their post..... If they boast a dislike for yanks, UP to them... -- Maybe those posters need to examine their own standing in their own country before they critisise other countries and 'yanks'....

Don't criticise the lady next door as she may be used as an example of your own mother...

As a Yank I am hoping that this 'wierdo' In Chiang Mai pays a big price for his 'bad deeds' and the bad reflection he causes for the rest of us 'Proud Americans'.....

I am fully in agreement... WE in the USA do have a percentage of these mental cases....

But I am bewildered to think that the USA is the only country that has them.

Several posters on this thread made posts that Identify this man in the OP as a 'typical' US Citizen.... and I personally resent It.... I AM NOT LIKE HIM ---- IN ANY WAY....

I Hope this Amarican in the OP pays dearly for what he did, and if he is indeed 'mentally deficient... I hope he gets the help he needs..... PERSONALLY... I Think he is just an 'uncontrolled' Boozeaholic.... Not so different from some American  (and Australian) Hells Angels who have gave many countries a bad reputation in Thailand......

Seems to have mental health issues, needs to be repatriated and cared for. Mental illness is just that, an illness and those saying he needs a kicking etc should take some time reflecting upon their attitude.

I really don't think this guy is a total Mental health 'issue'.... I think he has more of a 'drinking problem'.... 'American Indians' (and I've known a few Navajo Indians) Cannot handle Liquor at all... It is a well known fact in the US.... They go crazy after just a slight amount of Liquor (similar to a large number of 'Thai Boys').... So I think 'booze' is to blame... Not 'Mental Issues'...
