Not only these Norwegians but also the foreign pensioners in the few and rather costly retirement homes for senior farangs set up here in Thailand.

The Philippines actually has a visa status for individuals who need long-term care. It would make sense for Thailand to consider a similar scheme - but as we both know, what makes sense and what actually happens are two very different things!
