Blue Flag fairs in Northeast offer relief to flood victims

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Following days of contradictory reports, Thailand has decided to postpone the requirement for Taiwanese travelers to present financial statements when applying online for a visa until March of next year, reports said Thursday (Dec. 5).

Mastercard ties up with Tourism Authority of Thailand to draw more tourists from India

Mastercard is enabling digital payments across over one million acceptance points in Thailand. It has named Bangkok the top travel destination in the world in its Global Destination Cities Index 2019.

Incentives explored to encourage purchase of new vehicles

The Excise Department, which is aiming to encourage car owners to buy a new vehicle through incentives and thus reduce the number of polluting motors on the road, will discuss its proposals with relevant government agencies and the private sector on December 16, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)’s Automotive Industry Club, Khanchit Chaisupho, revealed the department’s plan at a recent seminar exploring the direction of the automobile market organised by Thai Automotive Journalists Association (TAJA).

Sacred hair relic of the Buddha to enshrine in Thailand

The Wat Bovoranives Vihara Foundation, led by Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara and Somdet Phra Sangharaj, and the Culture Ministry will jointly hold a religious cremony to enshrine sacred hair relic of the Buddha from Sri Lanka at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara temple on December 15. The foundation is under royal patronage.

PHUKET: A dead dugong found washed ashore at Koh Lanta yesterday (Dec 5) is the 23rd dugong to be found dead along the Andaman coast this year, reports Kongkiat Kittiwatanawong, Chief of the Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC).
