All very good points. And as far as the police go, just say no. That is what I have been doing. First I try to flee from them. If they pull me over, I just go around them. They rarely pursue me, and on the one occasion they did, it was no big deal. I did not see you. LOL. When they do manage to stop you and ask for a fine, just say no. Take me to the station. Do what you have to do, but I was not breaking the law. Worst comes to worst, I negotiate the fine down. Works nearly every time. Push back. They like an easy mark. So, when you push back it surprises and confuses them. They tend to defer to foreigners, especially if you have a valid Thai license. Do not give in easily, to the local franchisee. Well, I think it can be agreed upon that Muslims all over the world have a real PR problem. Not enough Imans, clerics, and heads of state, speaking out and condemning the extremists amongst them. Not to mention the highest birth rates in the world, in Muslim countries, some of the extreme versions of their faith, such as the Saudi Wahhabism, and the silly clothing some of the women seem to be forced to wear. It does not leave a good impression. Personally, I have alot of Muslim friends, and have known many over the course of my lifetime who are wonderful people.
