That was not a joke. It was not meant to garner laughter. It was intended to make a point, and it did.

However, the "expert" later apologized for using the son to make her point.

And used the “apology” to take another jab at Trump.

One would think a legal “scholar” would be bright enough to at least pretend to be unbiased, guess not.

They can argue that the hearings are illegitimate (as they have been doing all along) because they are not there to defend themselves.  It's like being invited to a party, declining the invite, and then portraying yourself as the poor victim because everyone is at the party except you.

Whine whine whine...

Exactly. He will complain hearings are unfair because the WH does not participate in it. As usual, his core base of supporters will swallow it.

The highlighted section is simply intrue and you should know it. Too many zero-hour contracts, part time jobs and too many people on the minimum wage.

less than 3% of the workforce at or below minimum wage and the percentage is dropping.

Black Friday online spending up almost 20% over last year, must be because everyone is broke. Sure, many buy on credit, but their confidence is up.

You would think that the POTUS would be unbiased too, but this one isn't.

In response to this claim:

"People getting back into the workforce with good jobs. Taking home a fair salary, and caring for their loved ones."

I gave my opinion that there are too many people living on minimum wage. Assuming you are refering to the federal minimum wage, that is $7.25 per hour. Many states acknowledge that $7.25 per hour is unacceptably low so have introduced higher rates, some up to double that amount.

How do you reconcile people earning $7.25 per hour with the claim that they have "good jobs" that they are "Taking home a fair salary" and are thereby able "to care for their loved ones" in a way that reflects MAGA or in a way that should reflect the American values, especially given the billions of dollars that were magically found to give to the most wealthy as tax breaks?

Over four hundred thousand people work for that $7.25 or less, according to the department of labor. That is over four hundred thousand too many in my opinion so I stand by my comment.

It's on to the Senate folks.... and Nadler, who schiff has handed things over to is sensing the fact that this Ukraine gait hoax is over, and is making the disastrous mistake of dragging in the now discredited Russia-Gait hoax argument in which he is actually diluted enough to think he can gin up the Ukraine-hoax and try to make it look stronger before he goes to the Senate. This will be a huge gift to the Republicans. Imagine subpeonas for Hunter Biden, Chulupa, Glenn Simpson, Christopher Steele (the fake Steele Dossier), Bruce ore, Lisa page, Peter Struck, Andrew McCabe, Halper, Etc., Etc., all subject to cross examination... it will be MSM ratings Gold. A real circus side show, the Democrats are going to get slaughtered at the ballot box, the next vote if they take this all the way to the Senate.

Yep, seems he's going for a Twofer. Big mistake seeing as it's clearly admitting the Ukraine hoax is a bust like the Russia collusion hoax was a bust. I recommend they make it a Three-fer by chucking in that thing about him having sexual relations with that Stormy porn star. At least that one was semi-believable although like the other two, it's hard to see a crime there as well. Bit of a mess it's all turned out to be. Wouldn't like to be a democrat heading in to the election after this debacle.

Sorry to disturb your wet dream but it's not going to happen as they have nothing to testify about what Trump did or not. I doubt Roberts will allow the trial to become a circus diverging from the objective.

On the other hand, Pompeo, Giuliani, Mulvaney, etc are quite legitimate witnesses.....

I take it when you say "bust" you don't mean all those Trumpites that have been "busted" in court, not sure how so many convictions and confessions can have been down to a hoax, maybe you should check your dictionary.

The best thing about a wet dream is the climax ????. Your woefully underestimating what is going to occur there. And by the way, the Senate will not vote for any implementation of a clearly politically motivated impeachment. We already know that.

"He quoted Trump as saying, "If you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate, and so that our country can get back to business." "

Trump could speed things up considerably by letting administration officials testify and releasing documents.  But guilty people don't like to assist in investigations.

The likes of Fox News (news?) will play down the refusal, perhaps not even mention it at all, but will go full-blare on how DT is not represented in the hearings.  Do bear in mind that they are offering no defense or counter to what has been done, only that the president who can't go for more than a few hours without lashing out at someone is a poor, unwitting victim.

Officer: "Sir, you were speeding.  Have you been drinking?"

Driver:  "I was not speeding and I have not been drinking" and drives away with the cop still standing there.  Is that how it's supposed to work?

Not everyone puts the effort into following all this nonsense, and that's the idea.  It's like saying "give me all the related documents" and then receiving a truckload of papers.  It may be all there, but lotsa luck finding it.

Too many people, especially the DT fans, see this as if it's sports, or a reality show with call-in competition.  Rather than gov't law it's more like arguing the Maradona hand of God incident.

Yeah, it's hell being away from a golf course for so long!

If he is pushing for quick action he has a reason.  I think the Dems should delay sending it off to the Senate, they are likely to land him with a bigger, deeper hook.

Even in this case, it still may be in their interest to proceed quickly.

For example, the Giuliani, Parnas and co stuff may be a time bomb. Note that the old foxes Bolton and Sondland smelt it and made sure they distanced themselves enough from it. Even Barr did it, although in a more discrete way. If the bomb bursts before the Republicans vote, only Trump may be toast.

Now there is also an old female fox in the House. She may think that it is better to let the Republicans compromise themselves by voting in favor of Trump before the time bomb explodes....

Plus trump obviously knows currently he won't be convicted by his spineless, self interested party members.

Btw, I no longer have a stake in the outcome in America. I gave myself a divorce. The POTUS is a controlled puppet by a fascist corporatocracy fleecing Americans and their labor. Americans have become slaves in their own country. All of the these politicians are required to sell their soul to the machine of greed and self interests. They really don't give a %^$! about anyone but themselves. It is beyond immoral for the American people to be required to pay for this now complete circus (a three ring circus, three branches of government). Those $%^$, excuse me politicians, make millions to sit up there and maliciously contrive these dog and pony shows, while the so called American dream is allowed to die. As I am sure you are aware, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights is nearly shredded. Their is a full assault, by the corporate so called elitists, to fully eradicate all of the freedom and liberty's that were created in 1776. Americans get bogged down in the political $%^$ shows all the while infrastructure and the important issues get buried. It is a malicious effort by the hired social engineers to control the sheep. It is a ^*^&*^* joke Jack!!! As Biden would say. Final point... I don't think anyone should be voting for men approaching their 80's to hold one of the most important jobs on the planet. They need to <deleted> and go retire.

How is Trump shredding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights?

Isn’t everyone under eighty and not dead approaching it?

Trump enables the machine. He wants his due process for his constitutional right to be President, but wants to limit due process for the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Trump enables the banksters, who orchestrated a coup de tat in 1913 when they created the Not so Federal... Reserve Bank. He seems to show no interest in repealing the NDAA which shreds the fourth amendment. I am not saying he is totally screwing the pooch as we say. I am saying that the political structure in America is owned by the powers that shouldn't be and this limits anyone to do the right thing for the American people. I would point to the assassination of JFK and his brother Bobby as the obvious evidence for my point. Regarding the age thing, all I am saying is every 80 year old I know, every single one of them, no matter how healthy they are, does not have the sharp mind they once did. Therefore, IMO, based upon that fact, I wouldn't put them in one of the most demanding positions on the planet. Just my opinion.

America, if you don't hold your President accountable for this, think of what others will try to get away with!

Nonsense! I'm American, I think that America should hold the dems accountable, for abusing and not respecting the separation of powers, according to the most popular and definitely more prestigious Constitutional law Prof., other then A. Durshowitz.

When the 2 branches can't come to a agreement they go through the courts,if necessary, the highest one, that's been going on for nearly 250 years. The radical dems are proving that they are  intolerant to the laws and past precedence

"Constitutional scholar and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley told lawmakers on Wednesday during the Trump impeachment inquiry hearing that it would be an abuse of their power to impeach President Trump.

Appearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Turley accused lawmakers of doing “precisely” what they’re condemning Trump for doing and urged the committee to respect the separation of powers during the process or risk abusing their positions".

Imprecise account

His point was very precise. He was not talking about the whole process, he was talking only about impeaching Trump for obstruction. According to him, obstruction can only be established after the SC verdict. That can discussed.

It's clearly explained here

"Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University and the sole Republican witness at Wednesday's impeachment hearing, cautioned against impeaching President Trump for obstruction and said that Democrats would be abusing their power by not allowing the courts to rule on subpoenas."

I’m sorry, I thought you said Trump was shredding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

So who is Trump enabling to shred the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and what is he doing that enables them?

Incidentally, I think the Federal Reserve Bank should be abolished.
