PHUKET: A 63-year-old British yachtsman sailing to Langkawi has been safely recovered by a Royal Thai Navy boat after the engine on the British sailor’s yacht failed, leaving him adrift in heavy weather off Koh Lipe, south of Phuket.

PHUKET: A 41-year-old worker drinking with friends on his day off will be charged with drunk driving causing death once he is sober enough to understand the charges against him, police confirmed today after a deadly collision with a motorbike rider on the busy Srisoonthorn Rd in Cherng Talay this morning (Dec 8).

A helicopter has now joined the growing fleet of vessels who have been searching for a Polish tourist and a Thai woman. The pair disappeared after hiring kayaks with friends at Ya Nui Beach in Phuket yesterday afternoon. Search efforts resumed early this morning after a fruitless search last night.

It’s not the point system itself, it’s the fact that there will be a system in place which will automatically invalidate a driver’s licence once too many penalty points have been accrued.
